Yeah last year. Thats old. After the all star game in Houston he has given Chandler loads of respect and has constantly said he likes his game.
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/writer/ken-berger/24611482/james-riley-to-meet-wednesday-in-las-vegas [rQUOTEr]LeBron James will meet with Heat president Pat Riley Wednesday in Las Vegas as the first week of the free-agent negotiating period winds down without a decision from the four-time MVP. James was in Las Vegas Tuesday for a Nike photo shoot, and his annual skills camp also is being held there this week. He has yet to meet personally with any potential free-agent suitors, though his agent, Rich Paul, has spoken with the Suns, Rockets, Mavericks, Cavs and Lakers. Some of those teams were told that James would entertain meetings with them in person this week. First, James will sit down with Riley and discuss the Heat's free-agent progress so far -- Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger -- and the plan going forward, league sources told CBSSports.com. Uncertainty abounds, with the Rockets pushing to create a max spot for Heat free agent Chris Bosh -- a complicated undertaking that would require the shedding of more contracts beyond Jeremy Lin's, which calls for a $15 million cash payout next season but only counts $8.4 million on the cap and in trades. Meanwhile, major free-agent business in the NBA is frozen until James -- and, to an extent, Carmelo Anthony -- make their free-agent decisions. "It's like 'American Idol,'" one Eastern Conference executive said. "Everyone is waiting on LeBron."[/rQUOTEr]
I have a feeling tomorrow will come and go with nothing but media people speculating on what the lack of news means. Again.
Sounds like this process is nowhere near done and that Lebron's decision won't come for several more days. Yippee!!!
If the Heat want to use their exceptions, my understanding is they will have to be under the 81 million dollar apron "hard cap". If they sign Lebron to the max, and use their exceptions on Granger and McRoberts (and assuming no other roster moves besides signing vet min players to fill out the roster), how much do they have to split between Wade and Bosh and still stay under the apron???
It helps their teams to maneuver for other moves if they're given notice in advance. The longer the stars wait, the more free agent supporting casts are swept up by other teams.
Nope, tomorrow probably in the afternoon and evening everything will start happening. a lot of the trades can't happen til the 10 that's why it's been quiet.
Because at some point the offers are what they are and there is no new information to consider. There is only a handful of options that Lebron, Melo, and Bosh would entertain so it's not like you need weeks to choose between 3-4 teams. It appears Lebron and Bosh want Miami but Lebron isn't resigning without feeling satisfied with the progress Riley has made. So he will meet with him tomorrow. There's not much more Riley can do if everyone wants their max so if it's not enough he's likely headed to Cleveland or LA. Melo IMO is waiting to see if he can land with LBJ in Miami or LA. If that's a no go he's likely just resigning in NY. Houston seems to be at LBJs mercy. If he leaves Miami Bosh is likely ours. So we will be troubled and keep our vows.
nvm, here's another gym from Carl. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1330298&p=40306878#p40306878 we now have Carl v. the Gym Rat and the Gamble Shark
The less time teams have to hold up cap space to sign someone like LeBron, Melo, or Bosh, the better it is for everybody. The longer it takes Bosh to decide his fate, the smaller the opportunity for Houston to sign other potential free agents. Bosh waiting another week could mean the Rockets losing out on Parsons.
You have to think the Players Union would step in at some point and tell Lebron to poop or get off the pot. He's holding up a long string of transactions that need to happen soon.
http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1333294&start=520 dude broke the jason kidd bucks story, but i'm still skeptical so take it how you will.
We still have to sign Parsons and Daniels. Once parsons signs an offer sheet we have three days to match. How patient will Parsons be?
