Nope. Just a embarrassing finish. If you are up 7-0, there should be no possible way to embarrass yourself on the pitch, but Ozil found a way.
Brazil was so naive starting this match. They opened up like crazy riding that emotion to try and score. Players were all over the pitch, no shape just attacking like crazy. You can't play like that on this level. This result is more about Brazil than Germany.
WOW what a game by Germany. Great performance and nice job not taking their foot off the gas pedal. (and this game sure does diminish Mexico's "huge achievement" of the tie with Brazil...)
So they took the foot off the gas vs. USA? This was just Brazil unraveling themselves. Bad defending, no attack.
You and DD sure are obsessed with Mexico. Every other post includes a reference. You should seek professional help. Might have an OCD involving Mexico.
the twitter jokes are getting out of control 1. What's the name of the top soccer school in Brazil? Answer: Germany 2. Tonight certainly won't be the first time thousands of Germans will have to lay low in Brazil for their own safety
Wow, I still can't believe what happened out there. I mean, I kind of expected us to beat Brazil - something like 3-0 or 3-1 would have been my guess - but 7-1 in a WC semi-final is insane. Overall an incredible performance by the team and the coaches. I also really like the reactions of our players after the match, especially Thomas Müller. Of course you should be happy with the win and celebrate, but the final will be a new, totally different match. Despite that crazy win, we have not achieved anything yet. The mission is not over.
Brazil looked weak to me from the beginning. Germany has been impressive all the way through. Hoping Argentina wins and that #noerapenal is finally eliminated.
Just out of curiosity, what's the source of your disdain towards Mexico? You REALLY went out of your way to get that jab in.
My post is about how this makes the USA's work against Germany look pretty good, and that Brazil was actually a paper tiger. But, yeah, Mexico sucks. DD
Germany was toying with USA the entire game, come on now. This Germany was not the Germany the USA played a couple weeks back. Great that Team USA got out of the "group of death" (with an even bigger paper tiger than Brazil) but I wouldn't hang my hat on a 1-0 loss to a disinterested Germany team. Team USA has a long way to go to compete at this level but hopefully their showing this year (or Howard's at least) will inspire some would-be stars to come out of the wood work and onto the pitch.
But they started the Colombia match the same way, I think the only difference was Thiago's absence (and Neymar's as well of course) to help them stay organized at the back , and the fact that Germany are not Colombia.
Yeah Germany just needed a tie to advance. No reason to risk an injury on the pitch. Speaking of the pitch, Brazil looked awful on it today.
Sarcasm? Or are you the same guy who hands out "Participation" trophies to the team that finished in last?
