I'm never buying Nike's again... unless we get Bosh.

    Sam Amick:

LeBron? What does Nike want him to do?

No correlation with his uncertain future and Nike. He'll meet with Riley tomorrow.

    LeBron leaning towards...?

Tough to tell. He's dictating this process. Miami still in front.

    Moves made yesterday enough?

McRoberts is a nice pickup. Stats don't tell you how good he is. The guy picked up yesterday are guys that had fisticuffs with LeBron in the playoffs. Seems like Riley putting more edge on the team. McRoberts is good. Granger a question mark. Can't make you feel that much better about the team.

Bosh to Houston to open room for Carmelo?

Very real. Again, only Bosh knows what he's thinking. $22 mil roughly is waiting for him in Houston. That's enticing. ... Numbers are challenging though (swapping Bosh for Carmelo). Not sure I see it happening.

What about Carmelo? Chicago, New York or LA?

Those three. Chicago is the team, going back to his Nuggets days, that he wanted to play for back then. That is something that has the Knicks concerned. Then he goes to LA, where he has an offseason home, with Kobe in his ear and the Lakers thing is interesting. They're trying to hand the keys to someone after Kobe. They've done a nice job.

How likely are the Knicks to still land him?

Less likely by the hour. I don't see...no moving parts that I'm aware of. There are rumblings about different trade talks but if he was going to NY, we would have heard 2 days ago. The longer it lingers, the more the Knicks get concerned but I was told yesterday the Knicks still feel good. We'll see what happens.

Kevin Love trade tabled or not in the forefront of our minds?

Flip Saunders has been telling teams he was not eager to do it. Folks thought he was bluffing. Golden State was close but Warriors didn't feel like giving up Thompson. He was on the table but they didn't want to take back Martin. Celtics are poking around 3 team deals. Flip wants to win now.

Rondo being moved and when, not if?

I think so but not to the degree of Kevin Love. You don't have discontent like Kevin Love. Ainge will want all-star caliber players in return and those deals aren't easy to pull off.

    ...

    Best guess as of today?

    LeBron - Miami
    Bosh - Houston
    'Melo - New York
    Love - Golden State

This isnt a smoking gun, its LeBron shooting off flares. Why would he have a strategy meeting two days before he can sign a contract? If he was gonna stay with Miami he would have this meeting next month. But if he need five thousand slogan tees by Friday you meet on Wednesday to pick designs. He's gone

Does the player have to attend this meeting? Just asking because even general managers & owners have to talk to their “people” before they talk directly. Bad timing, imo, for a random meeting with people who need to know what he’s going to do.

just pin this with the LeBron thread since BOsh isn't really deciding anything.

It's smart, money-wise. He should get Nike's views on what his different options would mean to his brand and his earning potential, seriously.

Of course, if you're a basketball player first, this is a douchy move for sure. He's going to have about 100x the money he needs for life, so a realistic take would be: screw what Nike says.

Sam Amick predicting LeBron to Miami and Bosh to Houston is rather intriguing. Would be quite the plot twist.

Yes he can, but I don't think Miami would be able to offer him the max... But then again, i'm T_Man and not Bima...

I'll go on the record by saying that I personally think decisions have already been made for all these guys. We'll just have to wait until they are ready to release it. I don't think James is in his hotel room right now with his crew and weighing his options out of what team he should go to. I think he knows already and the people in his close circle know too. Melo has known he would opt out for a year now. Anthony and his agent know the current state and salary cap for each team he visited probably better than most people in this garm. I just think Melo and LeBron are trying to buy more time. I'm not 100% sure about Bosh. He genuinely seems to have been blind sided by all this mess. I think the odds stack heavily in our favor that we will be able to sign him, but who really knows. He seems to be making decisions with his heart and not his mind.

I guess this could happen if Lebron signs in Miami for 1 or 2 years???

What's weird is that he says if Melo was going to back to New York we would have heard 2 days ago and then he predicts Melo back to NY.

That's really weird, why would he say that knowing Bosh was on record saying he wants to stay in Miami if LeBron does?

The media is just guessing right now.
    They know nothing.

I bet HOU is still in it for Anthony's services.

Important to remember Amick and Woj are great at reporting what they hear from their sources but when they start offering opinions and theories they aren't any better than a random BBS poster.

I have a very difficult time believing that Bosh would just give away $40 million to Miami just to play with Lebron. Not saying it won't happen or isn't possible.

I just don't get the mentality of giving up that much $$$ on probably your last big contract. Bosh isn't going to get big endorsement money. This contract really is his last shot at making BIG money.
