the whole house is tile. Yeah they tend to jump onto my laptop screen at night so I'm sure it's an entire fleat that has invaded=(.

Macalu, gave it to him with food. he has stopped scratching. If he could log on to clutchfans, he would more than likely start a thread on Poop. It was softer than his usual for the first couple of days but back to normal now. $100 for 6 tablets:eek: it's worth it though, now I have 150 days to solve this flea problem in the house. wish me luck.

    This.

I'm an exterminator, but not in Texas. Diatomaceous earth is a great tool to use with flea treatments, although we usually use it in combination with one or more pesticides. I can recommend ABC as I know some of the ownership and they're a very reputable and effective provider.

    Good luck!

Borax/Roach baits. They work like a boss. I replace them at the first sight of a dead roachling. They are incredibly effective.

    BUMP.

Looking for an exterminator. For of a proactive way. When i cut the grass i see a ton of small spiders and a few large spiders pop up. Im afraid they will get in the house. It's a new house so not a ton of open cracks or anything, but i have seem some larger spiders make their way inside the house (by some i mean one and thats more than enough).

So any recommendations for a good exterminator?

Check out Church Services. They were the cheapest when I was looking (compared to Terminix, Orkin, etc...) and do the same exact thing. Quarterly pest control with free in between service as needed plus you get the AC / Heater checkup free twice a year.

Can you give me a good idea of how much it is, roughly?

Spiders are good. Get rid of them and you might get an insect problem. You want them to coat your yard in poison for some spiders?

Actually, I just went to their website.

    Thanks again.

Interesting. The problem is having kids running around barefoot in lawn. I worry they may get bit, or some of the bigger spiders biting me.

Well I think your choice is they possibly get a harmless spider bite (unlikely) or definitely run around barefoot in poison. Look at some of the health warnings on the poison YOU can buy. The stuff someone with a license can apply is much worse.

If it was fleas or ticks I would be all for nuking them, but spiders?

True. I am really second guessing it now. But i do have some small ant looking things that show up in my bathroom sink. I find about 3-4 there everyday. So those scare me a lot more than the spiders, hope theyre not termites.

So i figured i'd knock them all out in one fail swoop.

    Those are probably carpenter ants.

bulwork has been good. A little pricey but they come out whenever you request, on top of the quarterly sprayings.

I also have some good sized wolf spiders in the front yard but like mentioned before, those are good for keeping down other insects. If you really wanted to put a dent in their population you can always try the yard sprays yourself

After what bandwagoner mentioned, i think i may just do this. spray it with stuff from the hardware store and control the population.
