You forgot to point out that Howard did not take less.

You didn't bother with the ESPN articles? Seriously? The single most connected person to Rich Paul and LeBron's camp is Chris Broussard. Even more so than Woj.

As for why I didn't mention the smokescreen angle, it's because it's not part of a trend. That reference was from Woj's article last Thursday. If it were a smokescreen, the idea would be to bring in a high-profile acquisition. That has not happened, and in fact, new reports seem to indicate that LeBron's outside interest is not a smokescreen whatsoever.

That's in direct contrast to the communication concern, which has reportedly continued and culminated in Bosh's decision to contact the Rockets today (after being uneasy following his talk with LeBron over the weekend).

Is it possible that it's all a leverage ploy to get Miami's owner to spend the MLE? In theory, yes. But if an owner has to be leveraged that hard just to use the mid-level exception that teams get every year, that's a pretty ****ty franchise, and yet another reason I'd guess the best basketball player on the planet would consider other options.

Bosh is a nice fit, just a shame we have to pay top dollar for all our stars.

The whole thing is a joke. If Morey is aggressive with Anthony, James and Bosh it is viewed as "weakness" or "desperate" by some fans. If Morey isn't aggressive these same "fans" say that Morey isn't doing anything.

The reality is that sometimes circumstances cannot be helped. Daryl Morey hasn't done anything wrong. He cannot make players want to not play with the best player since Jordan (LeBron) or make a player like Anthony decide that playing at home shouldn't be a priority.

Who ever thought that 4 years later after the Rockets failed to get Bosh, now 4 years later he is becoming a Rocket.

It does and it doesn't. On one hand they are 1st and 2nd team all-NBA. On the other hand you could easily say they aren't committed to doing what it takes to win big (Howard is goofy and Harden is lazy). The ultimate strike against them is they lost in the first round. I blame the FO more for that, but I'm sure players around the league don't. Or the more logical explanation might be that guys are happy where they are, and can get paid the most by remaining there.

I'd love for him to be a Rocket...but I don't see that happening here at this point.

The Mavericks certainly were and there were reports of the Lakers, Cavs and Suns having interest.

With players like Channing Frye getting 4/32 and Hayward expected to get near max money, there would have been a strong market for Bosh.

He can't say no to that money and he will be playing with James Harden and Dwight Howard. Nothing wrong there compare to what the Rockets had 4 years ago.

That's what I think too. We are a fall-back position for him. If Lebron leaves, he'll be here...but I think Lebron stays with the Heat and Bosh doesn't leave that legacy.

I would just ask you to not keep getting your hopes up. I don't see a conspiracy like you do. LBJ probably wants the owner to show that he will spend a little. They probably have all this choreographed like they did a few years ago. I really think these big names are just playing around with a lot of you guys. Their minds have probably been made up for a while now.
