Inspired by this post from last night:

Can anyone remember any suspicious leaked stories that could have come from Houston, whether they got the player targeted or not?

I think there was one a few years ago, but I can't recall it. Might have been prior to the Greene draft...

Requesting that Carl Landry to get his knee scoped before offering a free agent contract?

I don't have anything for you. Just wanted to say I doubt Randle would have been top-4 without health concerns.

So NBA teams are that sloppy to where they wouldn't check a guy out themselves and drop a guy down their board due to an article being written by a writer/insider?

I asked Feigen about this years ago on 610. Question was if Lewis was still there would the Rockets have taken him over Cuttino. Feigen said they were locked in on Cat at that pick.

Could have gone 4 to Orlando...Gordon made a leap late after the report came out.

I hope most GMs aren't this dumb. If Morey is researching player injuries through Google we are ****ed.

Sometimes there isn't time to check them out or the team doesn't get access to them...and well, there may always be some doubt that their doctors were thorough enough.

I dont think it's as dumb as it seems....after all it came from Woj, he's usually a very trusted source, so GMs would have to wonder if they missed something.

You have to remember, sometimes teams do miss things or decide to ignore some findings and end up with a bust. So, there is reason to be paranoid here, you're not just picking an egg carton for the week at the grocery store...
