It's possible, but what's more likely: that they both separately negotiated deals with the Heat and each deal just happened to be that specific number, or they signed them to those numbers because they're going to be their MLE and BAE? #Hume4Life
No... from what I understand, if the Big 3 re-sign, then the MLE and BAE would be used on McRoberts and Granger. If the Big 3 don't re-sign, then they would be paid using cap space. By signing McRoberts and Granger for the amounts they did, it keeps them flexible for whatever happens. That's my understanding.
LOL please read what I've been saying for the past X amount of pages. This scenario doesn't even have Bosh coming back because it frees up cap space for Miami to sign more players Does it suck more than last year's squad because that's debatable. As for their cap numbers, it could very well be low but Nick Young made only a million and change last year. So did Andersen and Blair. If you want, swap out Frye for Gasol. POINT IS: Miami is better off with Bosh out of the picture than with him. Unless someone points out to me how will the Heat pay for an entire 15-man roster with 3 players making $60 million total AND still have a competitive team I'm going to reserve my right to think that LeBron and Riley wants/needs Bosh to move on (since Wade is pretty much their version of our Olajuwon).
That's all I ever said. The pitch though is to keep the Big 3 together, not to let Bosh walk and add Melo. They are pitching this to Lebron as keeping the big 3 plus these guys.
For our sake -- but mostly the NBA's sake -- I hope Lebron goes back to Cleveland. That would essentially guarantee us Bosh it seems like, and Lebron back in Cleveland would be a great story for the NBA. Honestly, I wish he wouldn't have left to chase rings with Wade and Bosh...Not in his prime at least... But what's done is done. Go back home Lebron (if you're not coming to Houston) and be a beacon for your city.
Miami does have an income tax, it's called all that extra hurricane insurance $$$ you have to pay for your house there.
If that's all it took for them to stay, then why did any opt out? Signing MLE and LLE guys was something they could do no matter what.
I just have one DAMN question... why in the hell is McRoberts, who can play absolutely no defense, who' averaging 8 points, 5 rebounds shooting 43%, getting a full MLE? This guy is barley even worth half of the MLE. You'd think a contender like Miami could get him for the vet minimum or BAE.

That makes sense to me. If others said that earlier and I missed it or misunderstood, my bad. This makes sense.
I hope you are right. However Love is a superior player and is younger. A trade for Love would allow us to keep our MLE and LLE. I suspect the issue for the Rockets on Kevin Love is that Parsons has no interest in a S&T to Minnesota.
I have a really hard time thinking they'll make it there this upcoming year. Wade is digressing even more. That leaves only lebron and bosh (if he's still there) to carry the team. They will have a weaker roster and i just see them self destructing earlier in the playoffs this time around.
How do you know that? Because based on Riley's past as a GM, he wouldn't mind pitching the idea to LeBron that this specific Big 3 can't win anymore and that they need to follow San Antonio's model of building a well-rounded team and not with cast offs and spare parts. Bosh can still produce but he cannot replace the 3-4 decent players that Miami can sign with the amount that they would give just to him.
just telling me that the Cavs pull is a legit draw for James... Lebron is either staying in Miami or leaving for Cleveland... Riley is actually fearful that Lebron is gonna leave Miami.
