I am just sick and tired of these star players always using Houston as leverage to get the deals they want from the big city. Morey did get Howard and I am not bashing the Rockets organization at all.
Notice the wording in Broussard's tweet: Over the cap, the Heat can offer Bosh the max or near max now.

Bosh isn't the one making a power play. I think Bosh opted out because Lebron opted out. Bosh doesn't want to get stuck without a chair. He's looking at soft landing spots in case Lebron bolts, but he isn't likely to commit unless he gets nervous. The Heat is operating under the assumption that as long as Lebron comes back they will have Bosh (and of course Wade) so they are spending as if they are capped out. They aren't going to ask anyone to take big paycuts. They'll then pitch the team to Lebron that includes these signings and Bosh/Wade. If Lebron resigns so does Bosh. If Lebron bolts, so does Bosh and the whole thing topples down in Miami.
