This is where the problem probably comes from. Sounds like the lesser 2 of the big 3 aren't really interested in that kind of paycut.

    1) He's from Chicago

    2) They need offense

    3) He can do more commercials with Charles Barkley or something

Rockets are being used back to back by Melo and Bosh. Who got next?

I am with you. I do not see how it helps ANY of the big 3 to break up. This whole thing looks like a power play.

I'm going to laugh so hard when the big 3 get back together and get knocked out the first round of the playoffs next season. They will regret this if they stay together.

Kinda irks me that Bosh isn't man enough to make his own decisions, but whatever. He'd be #3 here anyway just like in Miami. Come on already....

It all hinges on Lebron most likely.

The MLE terminology is being used because the Heat are operating from the mindset they are keeping their team together. They have to act like that though. So honestly it's probably a lot of overreacting right now. Nothing means anything until the Heat know what Lebron is doing.

If he says he'll stay now that they have McRoberts in tow, Bosh probably stays as well.

How does it help them sticking together? they already aren't good enough to win anymore and the team can't afford to legitimately improve.

The money... They would have to take pay cuts to play in Miami just to add some solid role players.

Just 4 years ago the faces of our franchise were Aaron Brooks and Yao, Bosh had long, weird hair, the Rockets still had the shiny P Diddy/Mase looking jerseys, and Morey was getting bashed for not being able to land superstars.

You can't have MLE if you have cap space.

Whoah whoah, why would they get knocked out in the first round? They'd probably return to the Finals again. Winning? Probably not, but Finals appearance, yeah.

Which makes Bosh "considering" the Houston max offer make a lot of sense as a leverage move. As in they all want the max and don't care too much about building a noticeably better team than they've had.

2 of the 3 don't want to break up.

But hey, when the lead singer decides he wants to get a new band behind him what are the old guys supposed to do?

Ha ha ha! ESPN Dallas just announced the Houston offer as 4 years, $96 million. It's clear to me that nobody in Dallas (especially Mark Cuban) has any clue as to what is going on.

The simplest answer is usually the right one.

This agreement is a "Commitment" either way. Riley needs to show what players he has committed either way when he meets with Lebron. How he pitches it is beyond my speculation. This is simply a commitment. What Lebron & Bosh do with it who knows.

What I do know though is that Miami wants Bosh back, but they DO NOT want the big 3 back on max salaries.

I would however speculate that they are going to put the ball back in Bosh's court to say you can stay at X amount, or you can move on elsewhere(no hard feelings) and give us that cap space to get players. I would have to assume that's part of what Riley is going to tell Lebron. If Bosh stays, its at a rate that helps us move on with more flexibility, if he goes, we have options to build around you with much more flexibility. If Bosh leaves, we at least have an affordable replacement for his role.

You'd have to think that Wade is already in agreement to stay at a certain rate, but has to wait for whatever Lebron & Riley decide. There isn't an outside market for him outside of Miami, but there is for Bosh.

No, because MLE means they are over the cap, they cannot go under the cap, sign Gasol, Deng or whoever and still have MLE. The only way they have MLE is if they resign the big 3.
