As BimaThug has mentioned, Chris Bosh's Max contract is being reported wrong by the media. His max would NOT be 4yr/96 mil. That is the max for Carmelo Anthony. Chris Bosh's maximum would be 4yr/~85.5 mil. Here is a breakdown from an article I found online (might have been posted already): http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/10/maximum-contract-scenarios-carmelo-lebron.html LeBron and Bosh Max Salary: Carmelo Max Salary: The maximum salary Bosh/Melo/LeBron can receive is 105% of the last year of their previous contract. For LeBron and Bosh that number is $19,067,500 (earned in 2013-2014).
I don't at least. If this were Kevin Love, yes. You would get at least that from him probably for the entire duration of his contract, if we were to go for him... As far as Bosh? (These are just predictions, if either played for the Rockets): 15.3 PPG, 9.1 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.0 SPG, 1.5 BPG, 54.7% FG, 39% 3PT, 78.6% FT 3.0 TPG - softness Love? 20.0 PPG, 13.9 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.6 SPG, 1.1 BPG, 53.4% FG, 43% 3PT, 80.0% FT, 2.6 TPG + toughness
You love disagreeing with me . It's not a foregone conclusion that we even land Bosh but come on those #s aren't that farfetched. In-fact they are nearly identical to our Big 3's numbers last year. Jones averaged 12/7, I don't see why Bosh can't average 6 more points and 1 more rebound with extended minutes playing backup center.
I think somewhere between 16/6 and 18/7 is the range depending on what works with the rest of the team.
If we were able to sign and trade for Bosh could we use the MLE before resigning Parsons? Doesn't Bird rights allow us to resign our players for any number up to their maximum? Does the tax apron override these bird rights? If not, try this: S&T for Bosh, Sign players using the MLE/BAE (Perhaps Daniels, maybe Llull) Resign Parsons for his number (between $10M and $14M) WIN! You would be hard capped for the season but at that point you're contending anyway.
This would be perfect. We get Bosh, can keep all of our player, and have full MLE. This also makes Parsons expendable if we want to s&t him for another star player like Rondo. We could then replace Parsons with one a MLE small forward (Ariza, Tucker, Pierce, Jefferson, Williams, Marion, Miller)
Well yes, and some common sense comes into play. A) Bosh is linked with Houston last night kind of out of the blue. B) we learn Bosh didn't directly talk to Morey C) we learn today that Bosh spoke with LeBron yesterday D) We learn that Bosh spoke with Morey today. Something is happening in Miami where the Big 3 are indicating a break up.
Bosh can't grab even 7 boards a game while being the only big man on his squad the last 2 years, no way he gets 9 in Houston next to Howard. Honestly saying 5 is generous, he's just not really a rebounder and he wants to pretend he's a 3 point specialist so he won't be in position.
orrrrr...people are studying options just like they should when millions of dollars are on the line.... it's ridiculous to suggest this goes down tonight because they talked on the phone today.
I'm trying to be generous towards Bosh, from all the bashing that I have done about him in these threads.
This also makes Parsons expendable if we want to s&t him for another star player like Rondo. If rockets can find a way to keep him they will. Need guys like him to win rings.
Its not half-thought out. He would a have a fire lit under him, playing for a new team, new surroundings and as an end-result, his overall game would either stay the same (offensively) or improve (from a defensive standpoint). Why? Everyone has the same goal: To be on a great team, with dreams of winning their first NBA Championship ring. Sure, this doesn't work with everyone (Harden) as his defense is still awful but he will get there.
Bosh's defense, the fact that his game relies very little on athleticism and the fact that his size allows him to play significant back up minutes at center gives me an incredible amount of interest in getting him signed up. Dirk and Duncan are older than what Bosh will be after a 4 year deal and they are just fine now.
