How about Greg Monroe? he can play alongside Dwight.... probably one of the best front lines in the league!

Too slow for the 4, clog up the lane for drives, clashing with DH in the paint. I guess they could always try the Gasol/Zbo combo but that won't work because Dwight can't shoot away from the paint like either of those behemoths.

    Nice player though.

Maybe if we strike out on Bosh. I'd prefer a PF who plays D but if that's what it comes down to, he is an upgrade over what we have

I agree but FA is on hold until miami and melo choose their directions SMH. its plain stupid that this team has so many holes and no bench yet, they are waiting on a decision from 3 players they have no chance of getting.

I love greg, but no he probably couldn't fit perfectly alongside with Howard. He scores in the paint, no reliable mid range jumper. He also is a little slow with his feet, he can't guard perimeter post players like Aldridge and Dirk. So not a stretch 4, not a perimeter post, and pick&roll defender, our biggest needs the 4 spot.

Why do you think the Pistons are willing to trade him and aren't voicing how much they want to match and keep him? Because he hasn't fit well next to Drummond, and Drummond is a Howard lite. Still, if we strike out on all free agents, I wouldn't mind us trying snag him, he's still young and very talented. Excellent scorer around the paint, great passer, rebounder and just a overall smart and polished player.

You do realize you probably are a better stretch 4 than Monroe is right?

He's a smart player, and he's a big guy, but besides that he doesn't have much going for him defensively. He's not a shot blocker or rim protector, and he's not quick enough to defend players on the perimeter and in the post.

He's slow in PnR defense. He just doesn't have the foot speed.

All im saying is IF we strike out on Melo/James/Bosh/ and Klove...... I would rather them sign Monroe, because if they don't and they sign parsons, they will be Capped out..... Hes not that bad, I would rather have him them no one

Is Monroe a credible backup for Howard?

    Can we replace Asik?

Monroe is going to get a contract similar to Parsons, no way he's just a back up. He definitely couldn't replace Asik rim protection and post defense either.

But yes Monroe could be our starting 4 and full time backup C.
