If I say he's the mini Dwight Howard then he is. Im always right. In 1995 I saw a high school clip of Kobe and I said this guy will be a top 10 player one day. My friends looked at me all crazy but now im the one laughing. I've predicted so many things and they turned out to be correct

    Im the basketball Nostradamus.

I like Jones a lot. People seem to forget that he was a 2nd year player last year (first season with any significant pt) & stepped into a starting role on a contending team. Reminds me of Horry bashers viewed him after his rookie season. Jones is a good rebounder & shot blocker, has flashed some great handles for a 4. I don't get the "mini dwight" comparisons. I see more of a Josh Smith type skill set. Smith would be great if he didn't just jack 3s & mid-range Js all day. I think Jones will be a much better defender when he gets a better feel for the league. I don't see him having effort issues, just comprehension issues on D...that will get better in time. I know we are in win now mode, so we may not have time for him to develop as a starter, but I would like to keep him as a bench guy for now, feel he could compliment the rotation nicely.

You hit the nail on the head with the IQ part of it, but I don't agree in regard to talent. It all goes back to coaching on that god awful Lillard play. McHale needs to know that he has a young player in on a key play, who has just over a full season under his belt...he isn't going to be particularly strong with situational awareness. You (or an assistant) need to be aware of the situation & break it down for him on the spot...like you're reading a Hooters employee training manual....too much detail is better than not enough. He needs to know: you're down 2, last shot, less than a sec on the clock, don't give up a 3, your best defender is on LMA, shade the 3pt side of the inbounder. That way if he does fail, at least he knew what he was supposed to do. Now, if he repeats that mistake in the future, that's a different story.

^ You are absolutely right, I apologize for oversimplifying the debate. I love TJones and am really excited to see him continue to develop (with US!)

You don't read. The guy said you let Chandler walk. We are not a 54 win team without Chandler.

I'm wondering if anyone has explained the theory to these free agents that "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"? The Rockets are ready to go, the Lakers have like 2 guys under contract and one of them is coming off a 1 year injury at 36. The Knicks have no talent. The Bulls' Derrick Rose has more questions than the 36 year old guy in L.A. The Rockets are ready. Come on.

Can we turn our attention to Bosh yet? The Rockets, I mean, not Clutchfans with our dyslexic ADHD ability to pay too much attention to everything all at once.

Bosh to Rockets is the only thing that has made sense this whole offseason. All the Carmelo, Lebron talk is great but we all know Lebron wasn't coming and do we really want Carmelo on a team where for the most part offense wasn't an issue, now that Asik is gone we someone who can cover inside when dwight goes out.
Lin is ok but he is the weakest link in this conversation, he admitted his inconsistencies and basically needs to be somewhere where he can develop without a spotlight on him and either philly or milwaukee would be perfect for that. my only concern is pg and bev's knees. possibly we can get a really good backup pg and 1 more 3 pt shooter besides daniels and we're all set.

If Lebron goes back to Cleveland, you've got to think that makes Bosh more open to the option of leaving Miami. He seems to not like being the man and he may prefer to move back to PF. Both of which he would have in Houston for a close to max contract ~18M starting salary.

OR if we're really lucky, we could convince Riley to do a sign and trade for full max so Miami could have more assets when they blow it up after Lebron and Bosh leave. Then we would retain the full MLE to get a 3&D wing.

Depends on what kind of max it is. starting 16,17m in the first year? maybe. 20+m for the first year? not going to happen in any NBA team.

If the Rockets land Chris Bosh this offseason, it is nothing short of a monumental win for us.

Pray to god Lebron goes to Cleveland, because that should get the ball rolling.
