You're right. This is the kind of stuff that was breaking our way between the real estate rumors and the barber guy. I guess this is the real Melo?

Still can't say I give up what little hope I have until the decision is announced. (hopefully today)

They're just reporting the same thing we've been hearing. Nothing official has been released.

"Part of the Lakers pitch is how they take care of their star players"

I don't fear Lebron and Carmelo on the Lakers. Why? Because I have no worries about a 36yr old Kobe Bryant who just missed a year and looks out of shape already this summer. Kobe's in "Cashin Dem Checks" mode and if the Lakers lose he will take none of the blame. They won't be able to afford any other supporting cast besides those three.

It will be fun watching the Lakers implode if Lebron and Melo choose to go there. In that gauntlet of a West? After what San Antonio just did to a more talented team in Miami? I think Adam Silver's NBA is proving to be not nearly as star-driven a league as Stern's was. Now, you need 5 guys with talent on the court, and probably 9-10 on a full roster.

If Carmelo and Lebron are going to play together, I prefer they choise the Lakers and not the Suns.
The Suns will be dangerous with both players.
    the Lakers are done

    LOL MAVS:

He's a restricted FA and has the sane agent as LeBron. Also we couldn't do that until July 10th.

I know man, they're not even a source. They just retweet what other NBA Insiders find. I hate when people retweet NBA Legion.

reports were Melo made it clear that he wanted bulls to keep TAJ, which means he wanted to play next to him at his natural position SF. All the teams pitches in meetings remaining we're

    Rockets - (PF)
    Lakers - SF
    Knicks - SF
    Bulls - SF

This is the biggest reason Melo isn't seriously considering the Rockets, in my opinion. He knows playing power forward will shorten his career because he would have to bang with the big dudes down low. He wants to play small forward, and we can't offer him that.

I have no doubt whatsoever that Cyberx is hearing straight from his source that the Lakers are indeed heavily being considered, but people need to keep this in mind-

-Other than the Knicks, & Mavs, no other team on his "list" had true max salary cap space
-The Mavs, when they figured out that they were just being used as leverage, started making separate moves that took up their cap space, ala resigning Dirk & Harris.
    -Enter the Lakers as leverage

(the Rockets should remember this for years before the Harden trade when they were always the bridesmaid getting their cap space used as leverage)

Carmelo will leak this out himself until he gets a full max offer sheet from Phil himself.

    -Also-

-If Melo has the Lakers on his list, and DOESN'T want to go back home to New York, he can than have LEVERAGE to say I will go to the Lakers, and you will get nothing back in return, or you can S&T me (and still get the max) to Chicago or Houston and get assets back in return.

I really didnt think carmelo was goin to houston, even when it was first mentioned. I dont think you turn down the opportunity to play under phil jackson in nyc. Its not about the rockets being a better place to win either. I think the knicks will do just fine in the eastern conference. Maybe it is a better opportunity than houston actually. Thet have championship quality mangaement in coaching and front office. houston doesnt.

I think this is definitely the biggest factor. Also might be the biggest factor when all is set and done as to why he and Lebron don't team up.

We do have a wildcard tho in Parsons. He can be shipped for a true PF...that just may be too much uncertainty for Melo though, or as some have stated over, and over, and over again, maybe Parsons isn't going anywhere.

I understand derek fisher is the coach, but phil is goin to do his work behind the scene. Everything is going to have his imprint and they have kurt as an assistant. Htown and their coaching staff leaves something to be desired so far. That is my honest opinion looking at both sides. If i was a player, ill choose phil and nyc over Mchale. No doubt.
