Not suspended; their press release says relationship is terminated. Too bad, particularly for satellite radio.

They must have already wanted to get rid of him, unless I missed part of it, I don't see this as a reason to be fired.

This is probably good for Jason Ellis and his show

It could probably be indirectly tied to the Sirius/XM

...merger in that it required a federal anti-trust exemption. One of the complaints from very specific regulators or congressmen was a demand for more minority programming, combine that with an expectation that S/XM self-regulate content in ways that save time or hassle for FCC or FTC, and the fact that this would inevitably have spilled over to on air, and it probably got tough to keep their second most popular shock jocks. The physical confrontation, while seemingly not at all Cumia's fault, combined with the displayed photograph and genuinely threatening language and racial slurs, was probably difficult for Karmazin, John Malone or possibly even Hughes to stand by.

Hughes and Cumia have had on air arguments about Cumia's professional discipline and self-control; unfortunately with Hughes also having hired Cumia in the first place long ago, I can see Hughes agreeing to stay on producing the channel and other related content but letting Cumia go.

I'm a huge fan of the show and will probably cancel my sub (of about ten years) if the bbbboys are done. I admit that Ant's racial and political rants had been making it difficult for me to enjoy the show as much as I used to. I think a lot of the change in tone had to do more with the guys not being able to do the stunts and bits that they could do on XM.

Misogynistic slurs, and dehumanizing terminology coupled with behavioral generalizations about blacks.

What stunts? Benji from the HS show just got freaking fingered in his butt hole by Perez Hilton, on air, last week. Hilarious, but I felt gross after hearing it.

This is why I only listen to Pitchfork Best New Music tracks in my car vinyl turntable.
