In response to OP, It would be interesting what the Bucks could do with Kidd and Lin. Seeing as how Livingston's career has been rejuvenated, perhaps there is some hope. Of course, the major negative is Brandon Knight is relatively established and OJ Mayo is a member of chuckers anonymous.

If Morey was able to shed the carcass of Tracy McGrady, getting rid of Lin is gonna be a non issue. Now if we can just get a top flight FA to bite the bait...
Hip-hop Asian girls.... the only female Asian type that I don't find attractive... such an obnoxious combination... J-pop/K-pop Asian girls are at least tolerable...
Lin to the Bucks is good for both teams, imo. Rockets lose the contract. Bucks gain a solid PG to team up with J.Parker and the Alphabet. Kidd as coach may also help his career. Lin's production may not be worth his contract, but he's not horrible Why is this taking so long??
I don't understand caps and trades as well as you guys so what am I missing here? We send out Lin (cap hit = $8.4M) and take back Ilyasova, (cap hit = $7.9M)? Why? If you were thinking of using the TPE we got for Asik on Ilyasova, we could do better. You lose Jlin, sure, which will make some people happy, but the stats below suggest that Ilyasova is not a better overall player than Tjones, so if Milwaukee is insisting on including Ilyasaova in the Lin Deal, Morey (a true sabermatrician) won’t do it. Here’s why. Ilyasova is better defensively than TJones, but still a negative defender, while Tjones has much better offensive stats than Ilyasova across the board., so one could think this is a lateral move but its not. TJones per game raw +/- is +1.8; Ilyasova’s raw +/- is -4.9; TJones’ PER is 19.14; Ilyasova’s PER is 13.85; Tjones Net Rtg (Offense + Defense) is +4.1 (Rox are 4pts better with him on the floor); Ilyasova’s Net Rtg, however, is -9.9 (Bucks are 9.9 pts better when he’s not on the floor); Tjones’ WS is 7.3 games; Ilyasova’s WS is only 1.6 games. Ilyasova is simply not good defensively to offset his poor offense; which negatively impacts the outcome of games. Better off keeping Tjones in the starting role. Especially when you consider that Ilyasova’s Cap Hit is four times that of Tjones. And statistically, Ilyaosva is not an ideal fit for this team; he’s not a stretch four; and won’t help us with spacing. Look at his 2013-2014 stats below and compare them with TJones (data taken from nba.com, espn.com, and basketball-reference.com): Ilyasova (per game): PPG = 11.2 (on 10.5 FGA); FG% = 40.9; 3pt FG% = 28.2; RPG = 6.2; Blks = 0.1; Stl = 0.8; +/- = -4.9; TOV = 1.1; AST = 1.3; eFG = 44.1; TS% = 48.6; OffRtg = 97.5; Def Rtg = 107.4; Net Rtg = -9.9 (the team is 9.9 pts better when he’s not on the floor); WAR = +1.82 (32nd of 87PFs); PER = 13.85; ORPM = -0.26 (ranking 33rd among the 87 PFs in the league); DRPM = -0.07 (54th of 87 PFs); Overall RPM = -0.33 (42nd of 87 PFs); WS = +1.6 games; Minutes = 26.9; Age = 27; Salary (Cap Hit) = $7.9M. Tjones (per game): PPG = 12.1 (on 9.4 FGA); FG% 54.2; 3ptFG% = 30.7; RPG = 6.9; Blks = 1.2; Stl = 0.7; +/- = +1.8; TOV = 0.9; AST = 1.1; ; eFG = 56.4; TS% = 57.7; OffRtg = 109.9; Def Rtg = 105.8; Net Rtg = +4.1 (the team is better by 4pts with him on the floor); WAR = +1.22 (38th of 87 PFs); PER = 19.14; ORPM = +0.49 (23rd among the 87 PFs in the league); DRPM = -1.91 (81st of the 87 PFs); Overall RPM = -1.42 (50th of 87 PFs); WS = 7.3 games; Minutes = 27.3; Age = 22; Salary (Cap Hit) = $1.82M.
The only way we consider taking back any salary in a Lin trade is if we have missed on EVERY FA we are considering. Also using only last seasons stats on Ilyasova is a bit disingenuous. Injury plagued season, take a look at his other years.
OP you should check out Remon Sessions stats in last season : the Bucks were playing Session average 40+ minutes/game in the last month or so, even in 2 games when they lost to the Heat by 20 pts and more, Sessions plated 41 and 45 minutes. Why? Because the Bucks believe this is the best way to tank. Good luck to Lin. On a second thought, maybe LOF will actually like this kind of playing time.
hot sauce is marc stein http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...6ers-willing-trade-houston-rockets-jeremy-lin
good point on Livingston, as for Brandon Knight, i don't think he's solidified himself as a starting point guard in the NBA. This is why i think it would be a good situation for Lin to compete for a starting spot. With Jabari Parker there, i think Milwaukee intends on playing to win, instead of playing to lose. It would behoove them to surround Jabari with young high character guys to cultivate a winning culture. Lin fits the bill.
i never said Milwaukee didn't tank. now that Jabari Parker is in Milwaukee, i doubt they intend on continuing the tank-fest, unlike Philadelphia.
You're right. His 2012-2013 offensive stats are much better, I see that, but statistically, TJones shooting stats are still slightly better. I suppose you can make the case that if we got the Ilyasova of 2012-2013, he could be our stretch four, since he was shooting 45% from three, but it just seems to me that if we're after players that can make us better, take us deeper into the playoffs, we need someone better than Ilyasova. His career stats still suggest to me that he is not the player that can make that happen. But that's just one man's opinion.
Lin is praying for Milwaukee, and Sheboygan and Madison and Chicago and LA and Houston and everybody's soul.
