Good lord. How I hope that blurb isn't true. If we can't get Love, Bosh would be a very nice addition in a position of need for the Rocks, but no way in Hell would I ever consider paying him an average of $23.6 million a year at age 30. That would be pure madness, in my humble opinion. $15 to $18 million? I can see that, for sure.
Blame the Heat for not pairing him up with a rim protecting Center and playing him away from the basket.

Why would Bosh go to the Mavs? Don't they have significantly less cap space than what Rockets/Heat could offer him? Are the Mavs gonna pay Tyson Chandler to come off the bench at 13 mil a year? Also hope that max for Bosh isn't true. I didn't even know we could free up that much space for him (other than S&T from Miami I guess?). That's such a steep price. If we strike out on Melo or Love, I'd hope we would only pay him in like the 14-16M/yr range, MAX.
No we could also sign him out right Howard 22 million Harden 15 million Parsons cap hold 2 million Beverley, Canaan, Daniels 3 million Thats is me rounding everybody's contract to a higher amount then they really count as. So with that group under contract we could still offer Bosh a 92-94 million dollar contract. His first year salary that we could offer would be around 21.5 million. Beverley/Canaan/Johnson Harden/Daniels Parsons Bosh Howard Would be the roster, then we'd have to fill out the rest of then bench with vet min contracts. Im you can count on Garcia, Covington and Powell all re-signing for minimum.
Please, please don't sign Bosh to a 4 year $92-94 million contract. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=9070135&postcount=66 If Love isn't available, getting Bosh for $15 -18 million a season for 4 years ($60-72 million total - probably the high end of that range - a 4 year $75 million contract is something I could get behind, but that's the most I hope Morey will go) at age 30 is reasonable. Signing Bosh to a $94 million dollar max contract at age 30 would be absolutely crazy, in my humble opinion.
wtf is wrong with you people, NO ONE is getting him for that shi* If you want him, you HAVE to pay the max
I think the fact that Bosh could be the final piece makes me willing to overpay. If he is your first and only superstar, no you don't give him a max. But to team him up with Harden, Dwight, and Parsons? I'd love to see that.
Is there really a difference between 18M and 23M though? Either way they would be at/over the cap, wouldn't the only difference be what Les has to pay?
Bosh is already 30, there is a strong possibility that he would severely handicap this franchise for years to come. Give me 3 or 4 solid role players (one stretch 4) over that anyday.
$5+ million a year? I certainly wouldn't dismiss it. Morey is a wizard at cap management, but it isn't like there wouldn't be a potential impact down the road. I guess a resident capalogist like aelliot or Bima would have to clue us in on just what that impact might be.
