We should have never signed that bum. It sucks that we'll lose a first round pick to unload him

DM does not have leverage in this situation. ESPN is likely to be correct.

Rocket Guy likes Rolls Royce but has no interest in 4k a month car payments.

Damn, would've been wayyyy easier if morey would've just gave him a reg $8.3mill contract per year.

That ballon payment is the craziest thing ever $15mill, owners not trying to pay that when they know he can leave and they could just sign him next year in free agency to a cap friendly deal.

2nd rounder plus DMo and call it a day (also clears a few hundred k more cap space for the max free agent).

I expect Lin to flourish on a bad team where he will be able to dominate the ball every possession. The Bucks or 76ers could exploit that to subsequently flip him for additional assets (a big trade exception and draft pick).

There really is not a guard market. There are also quite a few teams with space. I wouldn't doubt that there are more than 2 teams interested...especially with it being an expiring. Big names have to be gone first though for some of those teams in need of guard to come calling.

I think the hope was that we were buying Linsanity. What we got instead was a multi-team preseason cut/D-Leaguer.

Nothing against Lin, but he should be traded even if no big name wants to come here. He is a good player, but I doubt if he can mentally handle staying in Houston after all this.

We will need cap room even for mid tier players, like Pau Gasol and Luol Deng.
