For anyone who enjoyed nagi no asukara, keep an eye out for glasslips. I can see it meeting just as good or better just on story and art alone.
Finished Yowamushi Pedal over the last couple days. As far as current sports anime go I prefer Koroko a little more, but still really enjoyed it. Onoda's personality sometimes grated on my nerves where I was like "Quit being a p***y and PEDAL you dumbass!" at several points. lol But that's a known anime/shounen trope (much like Naruko pretty much being a friggin Natsu clone on a bike) which comes with the territory. Loved when Onoda and Tadokoro were singing the "Love Hime" song as they were catching back up to the pack towards the end. That had me cracking up. Will be watching when it comes back in October. Also watched the first episode of Tokyo Ghoul and it was f'ing AWESOME. Dark atmosphere, fluid animation, violence, gore, and good characterization? I'm so IN on this one!
Just watched the 1st episode of Sword Art Online II, as well as Akame Ga KIll. Holy sh-t, this season of anime is going to be freaking incredible. SAO2 started out slow, but I like that it started out where SAO left off and will be continuing Kirito's story instead of going into something unrelated. Based on the opening it seems that he'll be entering the Gale Gun game as a female character too. That should be pretty funny. Akame ga Kill is just pure balls to the wall shocks, action, and awesomeness. I watched the last 10 minutes or so of the episode with my mouth hanging open in surprise. I can already tell that between AgK and Tokyo Ghoul I have two new shows that I'm totally going to be geeking out over.
Akame GA kill was awesome, but that scene towards the end (you know what I'm talking about) broke my hear and maybe even scarred it. That was horrible! Tokyo ghoul was awesome too. I was pretty much screaming don't eat! Don't eat it!
That was my only request for the inter high is that I wanted to see Onoda singing Hime Hime! as he pedaled to speed up. Having Tadokoro sing it as well was a bonus! LOL It would be even funnier if Imaizumi sings it later. I love that he's a closet fan now. heehee I can't wait for that one to start again in october. Are you watching Ace of Diamond, Haikyu, or Baby Steps? I've been hooked into all the sports ones currently airing (Except boxing).
Finally decided to give Hunter x Hunter a try since some of y'all raved about it. I was apprehensive to try it because it looked like a tame kids' anime, but how wrong I was. One of the more interesting shonen anime I've seen and a hell of a lot more violent then I expected. I'm 60 episodes in and I'm hooked. Love the characters and development...and Hisoka is a freak, haha
I watched SAO and Akame ga Kill this weekend as well. SAO seems promising. I really didn't enjoy the 2nd arc last time so I was a bit skeptical, but I'll follow it again. Akame ga kill seemed like it was starting out like many adventure shounen stories, like Fairy Tail, etc. Then it took a different turn, lol. I'm going to follow it as well. Also wanted to thank this board for recommending Knights of Sidonia. I watched the whole thing on Netflix this weekend and it was pretty damn cool. Good to hear that there is a 2nd season in the works, cuz like many animes, it just ended at the end of the season without much closure. Where are you guys watching Tokyo Ghoul?
Imaizumi does sing it a little bit in one of the ending scenes. I'm still all over the sports, baby steps has taken the top for now since yowapeda is done for now. I hope he beats the 2nd seed to face takuma, but I'd understand if he didn't. I spoiled myself reading the wiki on ace and the fact remains, I HATE FURUYA WITH A PASSION! I'm really enjoying it too, haven't seen the new episode, but I like that nekoma team, they're a true team. Can't wait for the tournament to begin. Nice, glad you started it. You'll be even more wrong once you reach episode 90+ haha. New episode tomorrow and the official start to the new arc! So effing hyped. It was a great first season, if you didn't already know season 2 coming this fall. That means: yowapeda, kuroko, log horizon, and chaika all in the fall season?!? Going to be one heck of a month I say Man, I'm honestly heartbroken from akame GA kill, that darn scene man. Got me all depressed and ****. Someone recommended a site called animekiss.com that updates just as frequently as crunchyroll, but has mostly anything you can think of, whether movies, old series or new. Check it out.
RR14 - I am lol-ing at your comments on Akame ga Kill. I felt the same way. I thought when they said people in the capital were bad I thought, "ripoff a poor country brotha's money bad", not uh...that stuff that the end. Hayesfan - Hajime no Ippo is my favorite sports anime of all time, but you'd have to watch it from the beginning, not these late series that are showing on Crunchyroll. That's 200+ episodes in. It's an underdog story with a real feel for the history of boxing. Many of the characters and their boxing styles are based on historical boxers.
Akame ga Kill was better than I thought it was going to be; I really didn't enjoy the trailer. I like that it is more of a team than just the main guy, who right now, IMO, is less interesting than the other characters in the night watch. Any one watching Aldnoah.Zero? I again didn't like the trailer, but it was a strong first episode. The second half of SAO left a bad taste in my mouth so I wasn't that excited about SAOII. The first episode was kind of boring to me. I haven't finished it yet, LOL.. but I'm going back to give it a second chance.
Yep, makes me wanna go play and use my own jump serve floater Though that may cause me to be in traction when I landed - heehee! I only dreamed of being a setter like Kageyama with that kind of control... never wanted to be the "ace" I've never even watched a boxing match other than the ones in the Rocky movies so it wasn't something I was really very interested in. But since you recommended it I may try to find them and check it out. Actually Baby Steps has given me a new appreciation for tennis that I didn't have before. It always seemed very boring to watch but seeing the "background" that goes on has made me more interested in the sport. I thought about adding it to my queue but haven't yet. I didn't see the trailer but the synopsis looked interesting. also RR14 I tried that animekiss link and it didn't look legit... can you check the link for me and post again?
It's actually http://kissanime.com/ Actually browsing that site reminded me, Ergo Proxy is available on there and it's one of my favorite post-apocalyptic Blade Runner-ish animes. You have to read between the lines at the end to figure out what's going on because they don't just come out and tell you, but it's a pretty cool story.
Kiss anime is good. A trick I do is to go to a page, the reload and hold the escape button after I see black background. Less annoying ads load up. Another is if you're binge watching and have ADD, you can press the right or left arrow to move forward/back three seconds. You don't miss much and could save an episode or two's worth of time. I just watched psycho-pass on it. Really liked it...
I don't even know why this one makes me feel worse than any messed up anime I've seen and I've seen a decent amount of messed up anime like higurashi, another, Elfen lied, and Mirai Nikki. Lol, I meant kissanime.com. Never actually tested the link out myself. Idk why, but I like saying animekiss better. It's a great site, works wonders on my ps4.
This time it will be a highly peaceful season with the President Election Arc starting in "Hunter x Hunter" in contrast to the "Chimera Ant arc" which was a tad sinister. Like in the manga
Hey guys, I just finished No Game No Life and thoroughly enjoyed it. Any recommendations for my next series? Preferably in the same vein (clever plot twists, fast paced) but if there is something outstanding i need to see, please suggest it
I played with a King of the Court Kageyama type setter both before and after the transformation. Now he's playing for Aus. Super keen to see how anime will show a certain matchup. But I hate the new ending.
