If Morey did absolutely nothing but let this young team stay together, it would still be an excellent offseason. To think that Morey has to do anything special this offseason to cement his place as a top notch GM is ridiculous. Harden & Howard. 4th most profitable team in the league. Didn't have to tank. Have all our picks. Excellent stashed picks internationally. Cap space either this offseason or next IF WE WANT. The only person who has anything to prove is McHale. Going out in the first round was not good, but seeing as the games were so close and the mistake that lost us the decider was made by a 24 year old superstar.. he took a risk, and that risk was to give McHale another chance. That risk may not pan out. I don't think it will. If it doesn't, McHale is gone. Simple. That's how you do business. We don't do silly reactionary stuff like acing a coach who players love and concedes the weaknesses in his own coaching by employing skilled people underneath him. By putting our GM on the chopping table because he didn't land CARMELO ANTHONY and LEBRON JAMES. Get a grip guys. This team is in such an amazing position for the next 3 years, even if we don't land a big star this offseason. If we strike out on FA's, we have huge trade exceptions, future picks, young players and international prospects to dangle in trades. We're good. Getting Love or Melo would make it faster and easier to get to the top, but we are still not far from a talent and management perspective from the top two teams in the league - except IMO in the coaching department.
Losing to Portland was a HUGE setback. Bringing back Mchale was a setback. As of now we've made no moves while other teams in our conference have got better. Portland, GS, OKC & the Clippers have all got better. The only thing Morey's done this offseason is piss Jeremy Lin off. And that's in itself a setback because he shouldn't even be a Rocket right now. But like I said, you guys worship Daryl Morey so you'll find away to shift blame elsewhere if nothing happens. The easiest way to choose is the SPurs model but that one is the hardest one to do. Theres nothing wrong with collecting the best talents available but that makes us like the Heat. Tank first n perform later like okc n now philly takes time too. I hate being a fan of a team that wants to try to get the best players available. I wish we would just be a mediocre 9th seed team like we were 5 years ago.

But how can you critique him for free agency when it's not even over with!? If he doesn't bring in a key free agent, then you can go prance around the GARM critizing Morey for this FA period. If you havent noticed all the unnecessary praise Daryl Morey gets on here your either delusional or just plain out lying. Morey can do no wrong on here. If the offseason passes and no significant upgrades are made, then me, you and EVERYBODY should be critical of Morey. I'd hope you'd feel the same way
