But Jones is already better than Bosh!!!! What a joke some of these posters try to argue. Jones is a nice player, but he isn't ready, plain and simple. Bosh immediate provides answers to our biggest problem PF/Big men production.
With what? I appreciate the fandom. But at the moment the Kevin love stuff is a fantasy on par with unicorns and mermaids. We don't have the space, we don't have the trade chips, he has not indicated he would sign here, and (most importantly) the wolves have not yet admitted he needs to be traded. They aren't taking donuts and twelve second rounders or anything else ridiculous like many here would propose. But never mind. While we are "going after" love we should "go after" Blake and durant and rose. Why not?
I got rid of better stuff than that, when I set the trash out last night. Other than LBJ, Bosh's the best fitting FA available to us. He has a good midrange shot & an adequate 3 and can rebound (stretch 4). He can play the 5 (backup 5). He has no problem being the 3rd option. In the last 4 years, he has 4 finals appearances & 2 rings as the 3rd option. He's veteran leadership in the locker room. Is he "soft"? Depends on your def of "soft". Does he like to bang down low? Says he doesn't, but he can. Besides, that's what we have Howard for. All this can be had for 16-18M. We trade Lin & we can sign him outright. We keep our core together & he can tutor TJ & Dmo. What's not to like?
If Bosh becomes available, that is, isn't going to play in Miami, doesn't that mean Lebron isn't either? Seems to me Bosh leaves only if Lebron isn't going to be there.
It's a tossup between Love vs Bosh, but Bosh vs Melo - you have to go with Bosh. He is the perfect defensive presence we need. He is a master of pick and roll defense
How the hell can you court a player who's shown absolutely no interest in you? Chances are we are not getting Melo
Well if Miami keeps low balling him when he wants at least 15-17m then Bosh is going to be the odd man out. No way they let Wade go (even though he should be) due to loyalty and if LeBron wants max money, the only way Miami could add significant piece(s) is if they let Bosh go.
No reason to think Bosh is tied at the hip to LBJ. If a real contender offers Bosh good money, he has every reason to accept such an offer.
You mean like the Rockets trying to trade for Howard even though the word was that he would never resign here? Yeah, you're right, no way we could ever change those guys minds.
If you want to win, there is no better player to be tied to. But like the Melo drama, he may have to decide between winning and money.
This. And he is super clutch. Check his playoff stats for the last three seasons. We would have elite interior defense with him, and he fits perfectly on the offense - helping the spacing and doesn't need all the touches. I think he is definitely worth the ~17 mil..
According to Doc Rockets post, it is looking like we will either get Melo or Love... I would be fine with either.a
Honestly I do think bosh is a better fit. Especially if he can be had for $15 per. He's a 4/5 where as melo is a 3/4. Bosh is a better defender and we need a backup 5 now anyway. Bosh at that price allows us to improve the 1 spot and strengthen the bench all while keeping Parsons too. I know it not as sexy of an option with the other big names but I think bosh is actually a good fit and undervalued right now and could be had for little cost (asset wise).
The Heat didn't look particularly fierce this year. LeBron is godmode, but clearly he can't do it alone. The Heat are on a downward trajectory. If I'm Bosh, I wait until the Heat have done their shopping before I decide if they are worth reupping with. LBJ alone won't cut it.
