    1. There's a good chance Lebron may leave.
    2. Miami won't give him max money.
    3. Maybe he feels their championship window is closed if Riley can't surround them with better players.

To play with Dwight and Harden, Wade is declining fast... probably a new adventure.... he is not Lebron who cares about legacy so much.

Houston does surprisingly well against the Spurs in Regular season and he will probably like the feeling giving it to the ugly arse Spurs!

He would only leave if Lebron wants max money and Bosh isn't willing to go as low as Miami want him to go. Then we swoop in with extra money, even say we would be willing to do a s&t with Lin and the Pelicans pick to clear up some more room for him.

He still has a chance to win, has a long term future as he can finish his career as a 6th man behind Jones with Harden/Parsons in their his prime.

If the thing keeping New York in it is money, I like the odds he moves to us if New York can't get help. If it is his family, then our odds go down drastically.

Cavs, look at their roster. It's pretty solid and they can give him the max

    This is our other insider.

After Codman/Shaun11/King Drew confirmation, I say that we are going to grab melo.

I've always liked your posts but, if I remember correctly, wasn't it rumored to be LaLa that was stopping Carmelo from coming to Houston years ago because she didn't like the city and only wanted to be in LA/NY. I wonder why that changed/if it changed.

Let's say a Carmelo signing does go through. (not S&T) What are the next steps?

    1. Resign Parsons
    2. Sign someone to the MLE?

    would look more like this:

    1. dump Lin+non guaranteed deals for cap room
2 sign Melo outright with our cap space at ~19M
    3. resign parsons/match his contract to go over the cap
    4. fill out roster with vet minimum players*

*After we use our cap space to sign Melo, we lose the ability to use the MLE and BAE. You can do either one or the other, but not both in the same year.

We would have the Room Exception ($2.7MM per) and then vet mins. We would still be able to put together a decent, albeit old bench.
