Bosh is soft IMO, not a fan.

    Bosh would be great!

We wouldn't need to spend as much on a backup center because he could give us some good minutes there

I agree, Bosh would be just like Lin in that he'd under-perform and we'd be looking to get rid of him in the middle of any contract we'd sign with him.

That's exactly what'll happen to whatever team that signs him.

This being leaked to the media is the Rockets way of telling LBJ. Hey Bosh has options too.

What? You guys don't want Bosh? I can understand if you don't like the guy, but to question his talent is stupid. He is still top 5 PF, and could fall anywhere from 1-5 depending on how one view him. People need to realize that he took a back seat in Miami, and was clearly underutilized. Take a look at the very few games LBJ missed and you can get an indication of what Bosh can do when called on. Most guys look at stats too damn much. Stats don't always tell the full story and can be misleading. Its the small things a player does, such as being a team player, hustle, defense etc. Take a look at Love; all the stats in the world but doesn't help his team win. Personally I would take Love over Bosh cause he is a better shooter to spread the floor, but that doesn't take away from Bosh's game.

Reading some of these comments made me realize why I stay away from certain threads and rarely comment in others. A third are trolls, and another third don't know jack about basketball (team game).

Am I the only person who remembers Terrence Jones? Yes Bosh is a better player, but $ for $ TJ. One summer and season and he could be Chris Bosh 7 years younger without the exorbitant pricetag

i agree but we're in win mode now. if there is another first round exit you can be sure that dwight is going to be flirting with curvier general managers.

How can T. Jones be a younger Bosh, when he's barely 6'9 with a really mediocre jumper, struggling to defend bigger PFs?

Bosh is a 6'11 big who can stretch the floor and has one of the best midrange shots in the league statistically, plus a good corner 3pt shot. Well more rounded offensive game. Also a legit defender with his size, athleticsm and ball-iq.

There's a huge difference between these two guys and right now nothing indicates that Jones will be as good as Bosh in a few years.

The undervaluing of Bosh on CF is getting to absurd levels.

The Rockets don't really have the time to develop Jones. Last year he started, but rarely was he ever in late close games. In the playoffs, he was practically a no show and a big reason why LMA tourched us the first 2 games.

I still think he is a year or two away from being a legit NBA starter who plays big time minutes. We don't have that time. How much longer with Dwight last? IMO, 3-4 years max. If we spend half that trying to develop Jones, it's wasting the time we have.

The West is full of good to elite power forwards. How many times was Jones practically abused by LMA, Griffin, Love, Ibaka, even Lee. We need a player that can guard these guys (Bosh) or make them work on the other side of the floor (Melo).

Juwan Howard??? Cmon man... For all of you that are quick to dismiss Bosh as a good fit for our team. Please step back and think for a moment. When Morey was last recruiting him everyone was so high on him and for good reason. Now people want to disregard that???

He plays with the best player in the league. Obviously his numbers and production are going to decrease. Check out his numbers when James is out. Dude always steps up.

What have we always needed? A 4 that has length, can stretch the floor and plays decent D. He fits every criteria. He puts in effort on both sides of the floor unlike MEHlow he has a fire to him.

He also has obviously showed that he is willing to fit into the mix. He will not come in trying to steal the show and cause an unstable balance of power which in my belief is sure to happen if Melo was signed.

And the BEST part... He is only requesting 16 mil a year. We could bump that to 17 to land him and still have room to sign filler!

Where he is taking has shots and the percentages he makes them are two different things. He is a jump shooter that shoots 46% from the field....that's good. I rather him shoot closer too....like in the paint lol. But doesn't mean he isn't efficient....he is very efficient. He doesn't need a lot of shots to put up points. Morey was after him because he would be a perfect stretch 4 next to Dwight.....ala Bosh....ala Love etc

Terence Jones is already better than Chris Bosh.

Why spend money on Bosh when you can wait for Kevin Durant in 2015. I'd rather have Harden+Durant the next 10 years. Than a dinosaur who just does jump shots and gets dunked on by guards. NO BOSH PLS.

I really find it amazing how much most people CF undervalues Bosh.

Is he the same Bosh from Toronto who put up 24/12 nightly? No but he can still be a guy who gets you 18/10 if used right and a legitimate 3rd option on a championship caliber team. I never thought they used him correctly in Miami. They made him into a 3 point shooter to give Wade/Lebron driving lanes. If they really used him to his strengths, he would be a 20/10 guy.

Out of all the guys we are chasing, he is probably the best fit for this team:
    - He immediately solves the team's weakest position (PF) and solves the big man rotation as he can play back up center for stretches. Bosh/Howard, Jones/Howard, Jones/Bosh.

    - Consistent shooter. Has some 3 point range. How many big time clutch threes has he hit the past couple of seasons? But more importantly has a great mid range jumper. I know Morey's philosophy but there is value in the midrange jumper especially in the playoffs.

    - He already knows how to be the third option so he can practically just slip into our line up with Harden and Howard. We saw it this season how many times Harden and Howard 'fought' to be the first option. Picture adding Melo or Love who have been 1st options all there life. There going to be an adjustment period as Harden, Howard, Melo or Love has to determine who is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd option.

    - He can be signed without us losing a significant piece. A Love trade will almost certainly cost us the Pelican pick, maybe even Parsons, Jones or DMo. Bosh can be signed while keeping our core together plus the Pelican pick.

    - He is a winner. Out of the group of players we are targeting, other than Lebron, Bosh and Rondo, no one else has won anything. Melo has gotten out of the1st round like once? Love doesn't even know what playoff basketball is. And on a team that is so young and at times immature like the Rockets, having a player than knows how to win and play together in tough times is invaluable.

I understand Bosh doesn't have the glamour that other free agents have like Love, Lebron, or Melo. But at the end of the day, there should be in denying that out of those 4 players, he is the best fit who can be signed outright.

Durant isn't a FA until 2016. That's in two years.

If you want to waste Howard's prime which probably won't last any more than 3-4 years, then be my guest.
