He played for Bayern's youth most of his life and was important for Germany's youth teams. Physical central midfielder (6 or 8) with good vision and a nice all-round package. Really strong at defense, tackling and fighting for the ball. Can also play as a defender because of his physical abilities. Has a good, strong shot from outside the penalty area. Weaknesses: sometimes turning the ball over in unnecessary ways (unprecise passes, dribbling into defenders) Can slow down the pace of an offense by holding the ball for too long He's one of the biggest German talents in the central midfield, don't think he'll be a key player in the next two seasons, but could develop into a really nice player if Liverpool is patient.
Prototypical 6er imo, not good and quick enough for a more offensive role. He's your central midfielder that controls the ball and maintains the defensive line. Kinda like a Busquets or Alonso.

Hummels had himself a pretty nice Saturday and he's been having a good WC so far. Barcelona should've struck a deal before the WC. Now United are interested and now Hummels price tag keeps going up. No one's mentioned who else Barca are looking at since Hummels is rumored to be heading to United, Benatia maybe to City and Mangala maybe to Chelsea. I'm guessing it will be Bartra, Pique and Mascherano again Rox1?

BTW what's up with all the International papers linking Hummels to ManU? He always talks about staying with BVB and loyalty being more important than titles and money. Don't think you'll see a transfer anytime soon.
Van Gaal already stated before the World Cup, he wants Hummels, Mueller and Kroos.....(2 Bayern players) and possibly Robben. So the Dutch papers blamed him for not focusing on the WC
Hummels would be a great addition. I think Robben and Kroos will be really tough to get. May be add Vidal and United's summer purchases of Herrera, Shaw and possibly Hummels and Vidal looks a good haul
