I can understand other writers complaining about Morey's dealings... except Stein. Cuban has tried to get in on way more stuff and struck out on way more stuff.
Not sure if it's already been said but LeBron's agent invited the Suns, Cavs, and Mavs reps to meet with him in person and the Rockets only had a phone conversation and the personal invitation wasn't extended to us.
What is the deal with the Mavs? Seriously, no hate or rivalry talk. I think most would agree they have a pretty inferior team if you are planning out for the next 4 years or so. Why do Melo and LBJ even bother? Is Cuban giving them keys to a Rolls in their gift baskets?
I think the fact the Heat were beat by the Mavs has stuck in his mind. He forgets that it is not the same team.
Maybe Lebron has 'checked out' on the competitive front? Can't handle it anymore, so is just looking for the biggest paycheck he can get. If he takes 4 years (player opt after 3) he can get one last big 5 year contract from whomever he goes to this time around, and will be able to 'skate along' and get paid a cool $200m over the next 8 years. Maybe.
I suggest everyone stick their head in the sand for the weekend (or relax and have a good time with your friends and family) and then deal with the fallout next week.
Seems really strange that two non-playoff teams and a borderline playoff team was granted a meeting, and a top 5 team last wasn't. But whatever
I think it has less to do with Cuban and Morey, and more to do with one team being young and up and coming, and the other, while talented, waning and fading when projected over the next four years.
