Bosh is a pretty good defender, especially against the PnR. Yeah his weakness is definitely his rebounding but I think Howard could minimize that.(He isn't as bad as Jones is) And playing with two other super high volume players reduced him to a spot up shooter, but he's still a great offensive player if used correctly.
I think the knocks on him in Miami have been unfair. He had to change his entire game, and went from first option to getting scrappy points wherever he can with few plays run for him. He was underutilized, which might have been reasonable for the first 3 years. But the Heat needed him to be the clear #2 this season and in the playoffs because of Wade's drop off. I was stunned Spo didn't make any effort to put more focus on Bosh vs the Spurs. At the same time I admit I have my doubts if these past 4 years have made him regress to the point that he can't recover. I'd bet on him, but I'm not sure at what price. I think I'd feel ok at $14 mil. Pretty interesting to see the WIDE range of what people think is fair for him in the NBA Dish discussions.
I could see where he'd be tempted. Come back to Texas, play for a team you'd fit right into, and nobody would ask him to take a pay cut.
The big question is how much will we offer? I think we all agree to some extent that Bosh would be a nice pickup but would you pay the 15M he is looking for? Personally, i'd look for a 2 year/low 30M contract
Doubtful with McHale but I guess at least it will be more fun when everyone starts dropping midrange jumpers instead of 3s. Take that Morey!
I was surprised that Bosh shot a bit below 34% from three. I thought it would be a higher percentage considering how many threes he attempts.
Love is the one you have to get at any cost when there is no Howard in the middle. Bosh is the one you get when there is a Howard in the middle, Love is the 2nd choice. Not so many shots left for him.
What he’s “worth” is irrelevant. You do realize that Miami won two championships and went to four finals with him at the max, right? The Rockets are going to be over the cap after this offseason no matter what. So, if they sign Bosh for $12M and then match Parsons’ offer which puts them over the cap by $8M or they sign Bosh for $18M and match Parsons to put them over the cap by $20M, it doesn’t matter. The team going forward is pretty much set. The Rockets have a rare opportunity here with Parsons as a RFA to put together an incredible team. If you have to overpay someone like Bosh (and ultimately Parsons, too), you do it.
with the addition of bosh and the subtraction of cisco; we would be the softest team of all time. id rather have patterson back.
Agreed. It is not like the team will be flawless after Bosh's or Love's signing. At least it one heck of a flawed team and we see who to substract or add after that. WC Finals here we come at the very least.
His rebounding numbers are hindered by the fact that he plays center in Miami. He's not strong enough to bang with bigs all the time. In Houston he'd match up more with PFs which will help his rebounding. I think people forget the Bosh before Miami, when he was putting up 22/10 on the Raptors. He was basically a better LMA until the Heat turned him into Patrick Patterson.
