As Carmelo Anthony leans toward leaving New York, Chicago and Houston emerge as frontrunners

Pretty interesting that LeBron's camp actually met with the Cavs and Suns but not Lakers. Tells me he is strictly about the numbers and game plan.

 

Melo is 30 he doesn't have more than 3-5 years anyways. He will never win a ring

Or the fact that both of those teams actually have young building blocks to work with (not that I think playing for either of those 2 teams would be good for LBJ's career at this point). The Lakers? Not so much, excluding Julius Randle, who has yet to play 1 NBA game.

 

I can smell Shane Battier influence. If Shane's Jedi Tricks have been passed on to Lebron, then it only makes sense for him to choose Rockets.

 

He personally didn't meet with them his agent Rich Paul did, he's in Brazil right now for the WC I believe.

The only team that would overtake Houston is clippers and they are not in the running. It's either Miami or Houston calling it now.

You are right! When I checked their salary figures I forgot to include Melo's cap hold. The knicks do not have the full MLE to offer Gasol and instead can only offer him a contract for less than 4 million. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...-knicks-carmelo-anthony-chances-eye-pau-gasol

They could possibly offer more via a S&T, though its doubtful there is much on the Knicks roster that would convince the Lakers to do so.
