If you are a Rockets fan, you want Gasol to go to Chicago because that takes them out of the Love and Melo hunt.

Not likely. Perhaps by the end of the weekend (or early next week).

He met with the Lakers brass today for about 2.5hrs including a top level executive from Time Warner. His supposed to meet with Kobe tonight once he arrives from europe.

Another bit of info surfaced that Melo wanted to pitch Pau into joining the Knicks, but they can only offer $3.2mill when he wants closer to $10mill. Some analysts feel like this has a good chance of happening because of PJax, Fisher and Calderon.

Pau Gasol? Melo wants Pau Gasol? Pau? Gasol?! What year is it?

Maybe Melo is willing to wait for Phil to clean up the mess in NYC for a couple of years until they have the assets/cap space to team him up with LeBron.

NY has too little money for Pau. But the rockets should look at the plan b.

Wouldn't it make more sense to compare last season Win Shares (WS) for all teams courting Carmelo Anthony? I compiled the WS data for the top five players on each team in pursuit of Carmelo Anthony, so you can decide, based on WS data from last season, which is the better fit for Melo: Bulls, Heat, Lakers, or Rockets? I also included the WS data for the Knicks, but only to demonstrate Melo's value to his team. Everyone pales in comparison to Kevin Durant though, whose Combined Win Share (offense + defense; OWS + DWS) is an NBA best 19.2 games.

I just can't see how an aging Gasol with Calderon and whoever in NY is better than Houston!

To me this is just a pretext to stay in NY

I'd rather get Chauncy Billups, Camby and Ron Artest back and wait for Kevin Durant next year. Or trade Lin+Canaan+TJones for Love and Rubio. I think Melo stays in NY or goes to LA.

    Rockets:
    Rubio/Beverly
    Harden
    Parsons
    Love
    Howard

Perfect offense team. We can only dream of Rubio running the complete form of the Rockets to perfection. He doesnt need to score.
