Why would McHale be going to talk trade scenarios with Flip? That's Morey's job. Unless Morey is flying out there too.

I dunno yesterday I didn't feel good but for some reason today I feel like Morey might have made him really think hard about Houston

If we're gonna get our decoders out, I'm sure the 42 has some significance since it's Love's number.

Houston isn't getting anybody special this year. We have two potential first team NBA stars as it is. A third option isn't going to make us the Heat. Besides, I'd rather us load up on midlevel role players that would propel us through the off season like the Spurs have done.

Not necessarily scenarios but you need approval to talk to players. Flip and McHale are very good friends. McHale could be there trying to nudge Flip. Who knows. Don't be naive and think that McHale is here for his coaching abilities. The guy is an all time great player with connections all over the league and an over all liked guy (sans Rambis).

I think he's just repeating himself: If we dont get Lowey(eliminated), Bron, or Melo, we then go after Love and maybe Rondo. He's just saying he's worried it may be too late, and that he would have preferred if we just went for bench guys, who have already begun signing.

Me too. I actually think the "10 minute private convo" between Melo, Harden, and Dwight may have been key.

That would make too much sense, and it would also break the 3rd star/championship prophecy.

No matter what happens, we can't lose. If Melo signs, fine. If he doesn't, it is fine as well, as we will have a boatload of money to sign important role players.

After Morey matches the ridiculous contract Cuban throws at Parson, a big portion of the cap will be gone. This is pretty much the last summer Morey can sign a big name FA, he better gets one.

Let's no forget the Parsons effect. If we miss out on all the top FA and some team offer Parsons a contract, we will only have 3 days to match. If we are unable to sign any of the 2nd tier players before then, we will have to match Parsons deal (lets say 11m per). Even with the trading of Lin and Asik will only leave us with about 6 mil in cap space, and I think we lose our MLE. We keep our BAE, but is the 6mil and BAE enough to bring in players that are better or will have more impact then Lin and Asik?
