Notice how the NBA will still find a way to fine them, even though it's legal in Amsterdam.

The location is a moot point, it is legal in Colorado, but I guarantee you Nuggets players arent allowed to ignore the NBA's rules about it.

This just confirms to the NBA that he will have a random drug test pretty quickly once he hits camp.

We all know lots of players use, but you certainly dont want to put it out there publically so the NBA has visual proof of you violating their anti drug regulations.

    just not a smart move.

They are still under contract though. I am not a lawyer, but I would assume that you are still held to that contract, regardless of where you are at. So I am guessing if they come back to the states and test positive that they could technically get suspended.

DeAndre Jordan and Glen Davis will never be confused with the term "smart".

I don't even smoke weed and there is nothing wrong with that. Its legal and it certainly is not a performance enhancing drug lol.

It is really dumb of them to do it or at least get caught so blatantly doing it. I just find it funny that if you pay for a hooker in the NBA its fine, but if you smoke weed even where it's legal the NBA will do all it can to get you.

Isn't it technically still illegal since they just enacted some sort of tourism law?

Doesnt matter. The league sees it as hurting the fake ass schoolboy image they built up over the past decade. And- legally- these guys are bound by their contracts and could face fines/suspensions. Its comprable to if a player rides a motorcycle. Totally legal- but a breach of the contract.

NBA contracts dont have morality clauses in them, which would cover the whole buying hookers thing.

They do all have clauses banning illegal drugs, which mar1juana is(for now).

Its just the NBA enforcing their rules, which the players knew about when they signed the contracts. If you want to break the rules, do NOT allow visual proof to surface unless you want the hassles that are sure to come.

Like I said, not a smart move at all. (and yes, one doesnt necessarily expect smart from Jordan and Davis, but that is beside the point)

Meh, if confronted about it I would just tell them it's harmless tabacco. Provided you're not smoking everyday your system will be clean in about three weeks. Training camp is along way away.
