LeBron is worth at least twice as much as Melo. I still don't get why Rockets are desperate to get Melo. Melo is an inefficient one-way player. His value can be easily replaced by spending $20 on other players.

It may very well be that the 10 minutes he spoke with Harden and Howard was purely about Houston's night life :)

You could very well be right with your whole take here, but the fact is it is not a fact that Melo does not want to leave NYC. That is conjecture on your part.

I understand that the signing of another big FA is exciting, I do, but who seriously believes we will be contenders with Melo? I seriously doubt it, since scoring is not the problem. I rather we fill our bench with the possible $20 million in cap space than one player we do not really need.

Who seriously believes that The Rockets would be contenders with Melo? Everyone who actually has a brain and decides to use it... Its honestly a no brainer... With Melo The Rockets expectations would be a championship and anything less a disappointment..... Yes the Rockets are better with Melo... Its not that The Rockets are going to score 200 pts a game.... Its that this gives the Rockets another scoring option in case Harden or Howard are getting doubled teamed or defended well. Wouldn't you loved to have had Melo against Portland in the playoffs? You know, when Harden was struggling in the beginning... Ugh.... TIRED of people thinking Melo does not make the team better...

If he's going anywhere but NY, he should make up his mind as quickly as possible. There's a need to at least negotiate a S&T so he can get the most money. Otherwise, the Rockets have to start shaving salaries, starting with you know who. Plus there are other FAs to go after should the Rockets be able to work out a S&T and keep their MLE.

If Melo wants Houston, he'll give the team an answer as reasonably soon as he can.

    Howard/Anthony/Parsons/Harden/Beverley

Yeah... the Rockets would be contenders...

FWIW Anthony is a massive defensive upgrade over Jones... who was just terrible defensively.

From codmans last quote and that happy times thread...we're about to get melo AND lebron...but losing harden. Melo is waiting on his long time friend and brother Lebron to pull the trigger n choose Houston. Lebron may not be too find of dwight or vice versa but melo will be the guy to help make it work- its been said he and dwight were cool.

The jayz song refers to both the rockets and houston losing harden and the heat breaking up tje big 3. Listen to the chorus.."sorry in a champion!" Again, i dont think codman is saying ot will happen but i think thats a real possibility right now.

This. The sooner his decision the better for everyone involved- including him. I dont even understand why he wastes his time talking with LA. The Lakers are basically the same situation as the Knicks. LA and NY are about equal cities and he makes more money as a Knick. Why would he even think about signing with LA?

It's like there's a post on every ****ing page asking the same exact OBVIOUS question.

What is everyone's concern? Defense? Would you rather have James Johnson? You're all acting like as if Melo isn't an upgrade over Jones' piss poor defense. Asik was a tough loss but we played more than half of the season without him & we did just fine. Is it that he's a ball-hog & you believe that Harden's one too so it won't work? WRONG. Harden isn't a ball hog & neither is Melo. Melo shot the ball a ton last year because HIS TEAM SUCKED ASS. I'm tired of explaining this simple ****ing logic.

With Melo WE ARE a contender. Get it through your thick skulls. Stop bringing it up.

How much will Melo get paid if he stayed in NY?

Nice. Wrapping this up quickly, should have a decision by the end of the weekend at the latest.

I wonder if this is at all an indication that melo wants to decide in the next couple of days. Sure would be better than the 2 weeks number that is floating out there.
