So...What Are Our PG and Backup Perimeter Options at This Point?

And don't say Jeremy Lin. Dude's time here is done even if we dont get Melo IMO

You need at least 2 competent offensive PGs even if Bev is still starting. It was obvious that heavy minutes plus usage caught up to Harden last year in the form of injuries and performance. So someone is going to have to run the team when Harden sits for hopefully 15 minutes a game next season. Someone is also going to have to play the 2-spot. Our best options right now, Troy and Jordan, are closer to being 9-10 on the bench than 6-7.

I feel like I have complained about PG and backup perimeter positions for the last 2 or 3 years in a row now. At what point does Morey get it? Every damn year Harden plays close to 40 minutes, and gets tired at the end of the season. It HAS got to be a priority to get the man some rest and get a competent PG who can take the ball handling usage out of Harden's hands. Hopefully this can keep him healthy and energetic for April and afterwards.

I don't know enough about the situations of the following players but they are people who I think can be a good fit (gameplay and financially) on our team with or without Melo

    Realistic PG targets:
    Jameer Nelson
    Mo Williams
    Steve Blake

    Realistic Perimeter options:
    Rodney Stuckey
    Thabo Sefolosha
    Alan Anderson
    James Anderson

Honestly, I don't think we are getting anyone from the Melo/Bron/Bosh group, so I hope Morey doesnt spend too much time looking at the sun and forgetting about taking care of our own superstar.

Ramon Sessions and Paul Pierce. Sessions is more of a scoring pg, but with Pierce they can run the offense through him

I like Sessions also, but I am not sure how much of his game still there. Pierce at 15 minutes a game would be AWESOME, but I keep hearing about he might retire

Me three w/ Sessions. I saw him and the Bobcats absolutely annihilate the Warriors @ the Oracle just 5 months ago. No idea what the money situation for him his though.

Not a PG, but I'd take PJ Tucker.

    Jammer Nelson for point

Thabo Sefolosha, PJ Tucker, or Alan Anderson

    Jordan Hill for backup center.

Kevin Love, Corey Brewer, and Barea would be a nice get in a trade.

Don't Jameer and Dwight have bad blood? Not really point of getting him if that is the case. He doesn't bring much..

    Jameer can't stay healthy.

Alexey Shved. I know he's not a free agent, but if we we're dealing w/ the T-Wolves, and McHale is tight w/ that organization, then I'd be down for getting him somehow. Either in a K Love trade, or if other teams need more teams in the mix to facilitate their K Love trade.

Jameer would be awesome, but he's almost definitely going to end up in Miami.

Sessions sucks. The only people that like him are fantasy basketball junkies.

Don't think so. I remember after one of our games against the Magic Jameer came over had a convo w/ Dwight. They were both smiling so who knows

Heat beat writer just said similar (well that Jameer Nelson may be looking for money in that $5 million range)
