What's important here is that we lost the chance to get Lowry because he's pissed off us giving #7 to Melo!

Just another example of how mentally weak Jeremy Lin is.

I felt pretty disrespected when Lin lost the ball in that critical play to Mo Williams. I didn't quote bible passages though.

Coz you are nobody, outside a few like me bother to read your posts, who gives a ***** about what you have to say when disrespected?

Lin's off court influence is much higher than his on court influence, he's an icon and it is the media blew it up before he made any comment. He was forced in a way by the media to have to come out and stand up for himself. If he didnt, what you going to say? Hey, look, they pooped on Lin and he doesn't even say a word.

    Haters gonna hate.

Who cares Lin? Clearly I saw a good thing from the Morey interview. Since he told us that, implying that Melo is serious about joining the rockets.

"but that’s obviously Carmelo Anthony’s number, that’s the number he wants. He told us that.”

Lin is an "icon" in the same way that a former reality show star is an "icon".

Lin wasn't FORCED into anything. He went to twitter and didn't even have the stones to explicitly stay he was upset. Instead he decided to hide behind a bible verse.... just a coward.

He's still an "icon" no matter how you put it down, the simple fact the media blowing it up shows it. I bet Melo is still jealous how it supposes his "glory day" coverage by media was shared with Lin.

LOL, how one wants to stand up is his own choice, everyone knew what he meant. Maybe only a few people like you think he's hiding behind a verse. Everyone else with enough intelligence knows what he's talking about the moment he posted it.

Lin is an icon in a Taiwanese church, that is sure.

If it is just the jersey number, yea it might be a little insensitive but it is overblown, but there's probably more to the story. Lin probably felt disrespected by the org for awhile and this might be just a trigger.

    That would be beyond stupid.

Do you have google? Morey said Melo told them he wanted number 7.

    Sorry but no.

Coach Larry Drew is a guy who has the right to feel "disrespected". That has substance. This is idiotic nonsense.

We are talking about a ****ing number. A ****ING NUMBER. Who gives a ****.

Lin is an icon because of the media coverage? Is Snooki an idol? She is in the news... Lindsay Lohan? She is in the news. The media likes a train wreck, and that is what this is.... "Ohh look, Lin has fallen so far!"

I don't think Melo really cares one way or another about Jeremy Lin. No one is courting Lin and no one is offering him $100,000,000.

How "one wants to stand up in their choice."... I agree, and it is also open for criticism... if you want to be passive aggressive, act like a child and hide behind your religion, you will be labeled WEAK.

A strong person either contacts Morey to express his disrespect or has his agent do it. Going to twitter? WEAK....

Yes, story overblown, but anyone would've felt a bit sensitive about it. Don't publicly advertise someone's "firing" with the new guy's picture. Lin had already accepted that he will be traded, but have some decency to wait until it happens. Also about Be 's number being taken by Howard, Bev wasn't on the team as long as Lin and he wasn't even in the trade talks like how Lin has. If Lin knew he was going to stay on the team regardless if Melo comes or not, I bet you he wouldn't have minded that the number would go to Melo. That picture of Melo with Lin's current number yells out, "Lin is gone, welcome Carmelo!", but wait, he's still on the team!

Anyways, this has been talked about to death, but just know that the majority of people outside of this forum and Houston are saying the same thing about how Lin was disrespected. Also, these aren't just Asian fans, but the general public.

Couldn't care less about the Lin story...all I got out of this article was Morey saying Melo told us what number he wanted. Welcome to Houston Melo!

Yea. But employee do feel upset about boss' decisions, all the time and there is nothing wrong to talk about it. I don't think either party is at fault. It's a standard practice for the Rockets organization and Jereny Lin is entitled to post whatever he wants on Twitter. Could Lin handle this situation better? Yes, I think a smart guy like him could forsee some of extremes fans reactions. Does he care about it? Probably not. The only get-away from this drama to me is that neither parties seem to care about their relationship anymore and it's time to move on

I find it interesting that he posted scripture about turning the other cheek, when in fact he was doing the exact opposite. Turning the other cheek would have been to not post at all.

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." Proverbs 16:18

Lin is such a prideful young man. "7 belongs to me! My employers should consult me about all things 7."

Melo is the senior; Lin is the junior. The Rockets are the employer; Lin is the employee.

Lin is upset because he is too proud.
