Players want an nba title? They see what they need to do. Lin can be upset all the way to the bank. The rockets gave him more money than he would of made elsewhere.
No he did not. He came off looking like a drama queen. Whining on social media != not taking the high road.
He was given a year. Anyways are you trying to say he could be maggette? Live up to his contract by scoring a bunch on a sorry team?
Yeah, this is stupid. I'm only just now catching up on news for the day, so this is a snap judgement. But it's stupid that we're even talking about this.
He blew chunks in preseason before we got Harden. He really looked uncomfortable being the first option.
Obviously Lin is not as good as Manu, and gets payed less. And we didn't give that contract to Lin in hopes of him being an amazing bench player. And btw the two players stats are actually very similar playing similar roles. To be honest, yes. I think Lin is at his best being a first option, but honestly if Lin is your first option you are not going to win a championship. I felt we brought him in here to sell tickets and keep fans excited during some tough, transitional years. Eh, he had some moments when Harden was injured where he shined pretty well. Obviously we won't get a chance to see how he would have done. And I always feel like comfortable is the biggest factor with Lin, when he is calmed and relaxed he can ball, when not he looks like a scared ****less high schooler.
Jeremy Lin brought Jesus into this. That was a punk move. If he had to say something to say to Morey than say it to his face like a man. On top of that his number is fair game it's not like it's hanging in the rafters.
I wish they had the courtersy to inform Lin before hand so we wouldnt have had all this. I wonder what they gonna do when courting Lowry, another #7... Anyhow Lin is gone, which is a good thing, I just hope this drama wouldnt hurt our chance to get Melo or Lowry.
Honestly, Rockets could have handled it better. However, it's a mistake and I think the organization and Lin have made their feelings known to each other, and the organization has apologized. I also think there's the slight possibility that Melo would feel disrespected at the idea that Houston would hide the #7 from the poster and that is a big problem which has to be dealt with. I suppose the Rockets could have informed Lin, but I'm not certain that would have made him feel a whole lot better about it. As for those saying public courting of Melo is disrespectful - I doubt Jeremy Lin agrees with them. Public courting of an FA is part of the recruitment process, it's a way for teams and FA's to communicate with each other and gauge certain factors. I don't consider it off limits, and I think Lin is way more than smart enough to understand that.
People have the right to defend themselves. If Lin had done what McGrady or Pippen did then he deserves the vitriol from "fans" like you. The kid has been a real professional for the last few years. He didn't do anything wrong. He was wronged. Let him have his say. What Lin did is fair play. What the Rockets organization did was unprofessional and wrong and they know it. Why would the Rockets lie to Woj at first and tell him that they had pre informed Lin that they were not only trading him but using his number as part of the recruitment unless they knew it was wrong in the first place. Did they not think he would check with Lin's agents? You can hate the kid for the turnovers and his sloppy guard play. But this has nothing to with that.
I think it is probably a given that Morey hasn't been accepting any meetings with JLin for a while. They might have disabled his code for the parking garage.
Yeah, I mean even if Lin's tweet was ill intentioned, its not his job to help the Rockets save face for their blunder.
It's well known that in order for Carmelo to come to Houston, the Rockets would need to unload Lin's contract. So yeah, Carmelo would virtually replace him.
