This makes a lot of sense actually. But can this happen and still land Lowry?

He has a lot of offense but his defense is a bit shabby

JR Smith and a S&T Anthony will cost the rockets about $24 million in total salaries. I don't think that's going to be doable if we're planning on bringing Lowry back too.

Meh. Jake Fischer isn't a reliable source. Dude reports all kinds of BS.

Philly was always a potential destination for Lin, though.

The Rockets would most definitely NOT have Lowry in any scenario that involves JR Smith. Especially if Melo wants his super-max at $22mil. It would have to be a 3-team trade that looks something like

    Lin+Asik+TJones or DMo+Capella for Melo+JR.
Asik to Pelicans for their pick to NY.

Not exactly too big a fan of that. But at least we keep our MLE.

I would do that deal but keep our pick from NO. Giving NY prospects, Lin and OUR first next year will do considering the alternative is they get nothing.

    Howard
    Melo/Jones
    Parsons/Smith
    Harden/Daniels
    Bev/Canaan

thats a REALLY small team...i would not want that as our final team. I'm not too high on JR Smith on this team. I dont get the infatuation. Rather have Hamilton TBH

I posted this in another thread but will post it here too. I think a sign and trade of Lin to Philly to get back Thaddeus Young and then signing Spencer Hawes and resigning Parsons is going to be our best possibility if we whiff on the big names.

Pretty sure if Lin was anywhere on the floor, this last 0.9sec loss would pin on him, isn't it?

Rockets were idiots for letting either Dragic or Lowry go in the first place.

The lottery pick we got for Lowry became James Harden...

    Yes :)

interesting rumor - I can see Lin in Philly playing with a young team. He certainly had no problem hitting 3ptrs there.

the analytics on Lin must still be pretty good for Sam Hinkie to have interest.
