Anyone have this card and is the perks worth the annual fee of $495? Just got an invitation for it in the mail and as much as I would like one, I don't think I would ever use it enough to warrant the annual premium.
Wow what perks could this possibly have to be worth $500?!?! Check out Dave Ramsey before you get this card...
Just did some reading about it, and it sounds like you're paying for a fancy carbon card with no outstanding perks. For reference, you could get a fancy metal card with Marriott or Chase Sapphire for a smaller annual fee. I had the Amex platinum card for a year and made money from it. I don't think the current offer is that good, but it's still well worth it for at least a year if you fly around a lot.
Unless you travel a lot, and crave lounge access, this isn't the card for you. You can get the annual fee waived for a year, but after that, not likely. There are MUCH better options out there.
Don't get it. Unless you a billionaire. But really, don't get it; not worth. I have heard a decent amount about it up here in NYC, but it is really kinda stupid.
Assuming this is the standard no-limit, full balance payment Amex card, just use it to pay all your gas, groceries, utilities and entertainment to achieve a high enough balance to earn points and justify the annual fee.
