Can we just create a "ALL things relating to Lin thread"... and all the LOH and LOF can just duke it out there. Tired of reading page after page in multiple threads about Lin... good lord. I'm curious is no one else worried about ball movement or lack thereof if we sign Carmelo? With the creation of big 3, I'm sure there's going to be gripes about touches...
Every new player a team brings in, whether via draft, FA, or trade, is being brought in to replace somebody. It happens on every team, every year. The number thing is just a coincidence due to him wearing the same number (though, as I found out from multiple sources, he didn't wear that in Denver. Thanks for reminding me ) He needs to get over it and act like a professional.
Well, I don't think we never had/have a chance of getting LeBron with Howard here. They never looked too friendly with each other when they were playing in the east. Melo ain't coming. There's nothing like having money and living in NYC and if he leaves he will never be welcomed back home. I think Kyle is just playing the Rockets and or just using them as a last resort. Don't think we have enough to trade for Love unless they're trading Howard or Harden. So who's up next...?
I disagree it's between the Rockets and Raptors for Lowry and if he really wanted Toronto he would have already signed. IMO Morey told Kyle to hang on through the weekend until Melo makes up his mind. No Melo then the Rockets move on to a Love trade. With GS refusing to include Klay the Rockets offer is the best. Everyone is waiting on Melo once he agrees everything else will fall quickly. Hierarchy likely as follows: #1 Melo and Lowry keeping Jones and Parsons #2 love and Lowry keeping Parsons #3 Love and Lowry That to me is the order in which Morey is trying to make this work and the fall back options
I haven't had much time to look at NBA stuff today, but the reaction to this Lin stuff is freaking hilarious. People need to calm down.
There will always be complaints. If they are willing to sacrafice and win, then there should be no problem. Melo plays quite efficiently when he is paired with stars. On team USA for example
By who? No one who matters will give one flying f**k about Carmelo Anthony leaving the Knicks as a FA, if he wants to go back to NYC after his career and live it big.
Still believe that Love, STEPHENSON (over Lowry) and keeping Parsons (if possible) is the better way to go for this Rockets team. Rockets improve their perimeter D (without having to move Bev to bench) while retaining their ability to space the floor. Stephenson is more versatile defensively AND offensively than Lowry, able to play or guard 1 thru 3. Same junkyard dog mentality as Lowry but bigger & able to back up (or start) at multiple positions (in case of injury). Parsons coming off the bench would be insane for the Rockets. Bev/Johnson Harden/Daniels Stephenson/Parsons Love/Covington Howard/Patric Young???
any movements for DM and company after pitching for Melo? other under the radar free agents are already signing...
I remember when Howard was in Orlando many Rockets fans said we had the best to offer in a trade _ and we didn't. Orlando ended up with a much better package than we were offering... I think you guys over value our players. Boston has a lot to offer as well. And what makes you think Parsons will agree to a sign and trade to Minnesota...? Easy for you to say because you're not in that position. But we'll see what happens. I don't think he's leaving NYC.
Welp, Lowry is gone. 4 years, $48 million back to the Raptors. ETO after the 3rd year. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Sources: Kyle Lowry reaches agreement on a four-year, $48M deal with Toronto. <a href="http://t.co/oF4O0LJA6L">http://t.co/oF4O0LJA6L</a></p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/statuses/484532879188172800">July 3, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Nope, Rockets (and mostly the rest of the league) in a holding pattern until the LeBron, Bosh, Wade and Carmelo decide. Once they reject the Rockets or decide on their future, the Rockets can move on.
Don't want a third star if it cost us a bench WISH LIST Post: Andray Blatche, Spencer Hawes, or Jordan Hill (sign 2 out of the 3) all could start if needed (Howard's back & Jones' motor / BB IQ) 3 to 4 year contacts Wing: Paul Pierce, Ray Allen (one or BOTH) 1 to 2 year contract PG: Chauncey Billups 1 to 2 year contract Wing and PG are old BUT WINNERS
