The only amusing thing out of all of this is that it could all have been avoided if they told Lin about it before hand. Oh how fickle life is.

Not necessarily. As stated in BimaThug's tweets, if Melo was able to accept a minor pay cut Houston could swing a deal with the trade exception from Asik plus DMo and filler to keep Lin and Melo. Anything is possible right now.
