As Carmelo Anthony leans toward leaving New York, Chicago and Houston emerge as frontrunners

This is about getting Carmelo Anthony, it's not about jeremy Lin. Lin is making this about himself

If Carmelo wore #12 or #13, they would have portrayed melo in the exact same number, regardless of who on the rockets had that number. It's about getting Carmelo to sign here and make him envision himself as a rocket.

Jeremy Lin needs to grow up and embrace melo rather than throwing a hissy fit. Shows he's not about the team

 

Well sorry but that's the pretty big elephant in the room you don't want to talk about. The vast majority of the people expressing feelings about the Lin jersey deal have join dates post 2012.

Yea but he's putting it on Twitter before posting here, seems to add to the credibility. I don't see why you would go out of your way to intricately post it on both to create a rumor but what do I know? It's not like anyone would lie on the internet!

 

I hope you realize the conflicting points made in your own post, though I don't disagree with your separate conclusion that the media would care a lot less if it were about TJones than Lin. Obviously. No one cares about TJones. Lin is a topic that has more national appeal. Media would do what drives views.

But yeah, Bev was fine with it so unsure how you saying "it wasn't an issue during Bev's time and it is all media" makes sense. You see the underlying logical flaw there right?

 

Your comment is by no means racist, but there's no need to bring race into the conversation unless you intend on making race the topic. Nonetheless, I'd go with the Under. There are a lot of Asian fans who are die hard Rocket fans before Lin came onboard and are fine with trading him if it means getting Melo/Love/Lowry and ultimately improving the team. Now, if you are insinuating that all Asian fans simply aren't worth of being Rockets fans then that's where it becomes an issue.

He was asked about it in a joking manner by a local talk radio guy. That is totally different than an ESPN article sensationalizing it as some sort of disrespectful slight. ESPN did not have an article about the Rockets showing Dwight in Pat's number last year.

 

Call me completely dense, but are you saying the Rockets can get Lowry and Melo while retaining Parsons? I thought I was reading it, but it sounds too good to be true. My poor little heart can't take this lol. :grin:

Nope, not what I'm insinuating at all. We have lots of good Asian fans on this board. We have lots of good and bad fans of all colors/religions/nationalities/etc.

What I am flat out saying is that the vocal minority of fans on the board that would be mad at the Rockets for the photoshop are going to be largely Asian fans that are only fans of Lin. They joined after we got him and they'll be gone when he's gone.
