Yikes. This will not end well. I've been a supporter of Lin for a while now, and feel bad for the guy but it might just be time for him to move on. We'll see.
I'm not sure how people don't understand that it's the "Melo in #7 jersey" thing that's rustling his jimmies, versus the possibility of him being traded. In fact, it's even referenced by the Marco guy in his tweet to Lin. The disrespect stems from the Melo pic.
Ugh I wish someone in the Rockets organization could have done some research. I'm pretty sure Melo is going to wear #15 if we get him.
i'm a 45 year-old, lifelong rockets fan and this grovelling for carmelo and cheesy billboard is totally classless and frankly, stupid. i guess i'm the only one who thinks this beyond disrespectful and below this organization. i wanted to keep lin and give this guy a chance to develop. now i hope he lands in a city where he gets the respect he deserves and wins a title. poetic justice would be him ending up in san antonio and them repeating. morey, les and those responsible for this sign have plummeted in my view of them. this 'buying a championship' route reeks of lakers and will never be respected by anyone with any shred of class. and those of you who have this myopic view of this situation as lin-hater/lin-lover need a new vocabulary and need to grow up. this guy willed himself into a professional basketball player and paved his own path. i've seen so many posters here saying 'he sucks' and crap like that. i would to see any one here who has accomplished anything that even compares to his determination, perseverance and drive for beating the odds. my rocket fan status is hanging by a thread right now. oh and him "partying" with the blazers only showed his sportsmanship and maturity. foreign words to some of you, apparently.
LOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL. LOF pretending to be a lifelong Rockets fan hahahaha. EDIT: After looking through his post history, he is indeed not an LOF. Still disagree with this statement. Lin may be a good guy, but if he's not performing then you upgrade. That's sports. Perform or get replaced. Also... please don't put Lin and hardships in the same sentence. There are players in the NBA that would have been shot dead, or would have been locked up in jail, or would have been living in poverty and struggling if they hadn't used basketball to get out of the grind. Lin is a suburban rich kid from Cali that decided to just play basketball for fun. Did he get discriminated? Sure, but he had a nice cushy life for him regardless of whether he pursued basketball or decided to focus on academics.
Same crap was said about tebow. Lin isn't the only hard worker in the NBA. He's not the only player who "willed himself to being an nba player". There are plenty of hard working basketball players that sit on their couch during the NBA season. I like lin and I wish him all the best but posts like this are what makes people like myself have to hate on him
"Life long Rockets fan" "Rockets fandom hanging by a thread because the Rockets put Carmelo up on a video board, with Jeremy Lin's number." Hopes Lin lands in a city, like San Antonio, where he can win a championship (but more importantly "stick it" to the Rockets). but definitely a life long Rockets fan. LOL
Everybody is allowed to express themselves......except Jeremy Lin. Ballers can tattoo naked chicks on their forearms, turn their bodies into walls of graffiti, take pics of their privates and post them on the internet, take videos of themselves masturbating and make that available to the public, knock up multiple chicks they aren't married to, screw around with each other's wives and girlfriends and get in fights in practice over it, get in drunken doped up stupors and hit people over the head with bottles, scream and cuss their coaches during games and practices, quote the prophet Mohammed, quote Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, and other race baters and hate mongers, quote pornographic rap lyrics on their facebook pages, and twitter feeds, pout like little babies when they get traded to the media, stay home and miss mandatory training camp when they're under contract making millions of $$$$s, and a gazillion other dastardly deeds that I care not to commit my memory to remember and record....and all is forgiven and explained away and in most cases justified and not even counted against them to start with. But......if Jeremy Lin tweets a Bible verse and a funny response to his number and jersey appearing on a different player other than himself....it's headline news and he's off the chain. IT MUST BE THE OFF SEASON!
Nothing before 2012 mattered.... btw that is the year I was born and I don't know how to use Wikipedia.
he saved our asses in multiple games. would love to see what you were doing at 24 years old. and don't pull that tired lof crap. i've been a houstonian and rocket fan for 40+ years.
like i said. i guess i'm the only one who sees this as classless. i guess i'll have to increase my posts up to 50,000 to REALLY be a fan.
