Yes, but I think he was referring to luxury tax apron which is $4 million over the lux. tax (so about $74 million). Once you get there you there are a lot of limitations and a possibility of a hard cap, neither of which I am really qualified to explain.

It's very hard to imagine that we could get under the apron with 'Melo, Lowry, and CP signing. But I believe that as long as we don't use any exceptions to sign players after that, we won't have to worry about a hard cap. That would be one hell of a luxury tax bill though as our payroll would surely be in the $80+ million range.

And that's a ton of non-guaranteed salary for them. If that's possible you do it every day of the week.

Parsons is not doing 8. On the open market he is in the 12+ range.

I thought I saw a report that Toronto was offering 4 years, 44M.

I don't think the Rockets will offer Lowry 12 million. I'm sure Toronto will, but after taxes the 12 million drops drastically (say 6-8 million). Rockets will probably offer something in the range of 7-9 million.

I'm sure Lowry will have to take a discount to team up with Harden/Howard/Melo/Parsons.

I agree, but it's the tweet that's stupid. Why tweet about it.

I bet after the Rockets meeting he's not going to be looking forward to the trip to Dallas for the Mavs meeting.

I know I'd be tired after one meeting and would just be ready to go home during the second one.

Or some of us would prefer Love over Melo due to need at the stretch 4 and age.

Melo would play the 4 I would presume if he comes to Houston, move T Jones to SF.

    Age doesn't matter.

    Not necessarily.

I think this team is better suited with Lowry, Harden,(good shooter/defender),Love, Howard.

    I don't want a big 5 personally.

The great thing about having a “big 3, 4, or 5” is if it doesn’t work out they can be traded for a big “team"

I like a team with a big five or a big four. Either one is fine for me, Les, just do it.

Jones would be gone in any deal, and no he could not play SF. He can barely guard PF's.
