I actually like Lin a lot as well. He's fun to watch, he works hard, he's a class act, he's an underdog and he has a great time playing a kid's game which is something that drives me crazy about a lot of players who act like they have the hardest job in the world.

If harden play 35 min ....... who should be the focus point on the team when he rest? i really like harden to have rest time, but this problem has to be solved:(

What is lost in the bickering between LOFs and LOHs is that Lin is not that bad a player. Here are the stats per 36 min for Lin and Parsons (NOT saying Lin is on Parsons level!!):

FG% 3P% FT% REB AST BLK STL TO PTS
    Lin 44.6 35.8 0.823 3.2 5.1 0.5 1.2 3.1 15.6
    Parsons 47.2 37 0.742 5.3 3.8 0.4 1.1 1.8 15.9

Lin has talent, but can't be counted on. He is too inconsistent.

I don't get this comparison at all.

Parsons shoots better, turns the ball over less and only has about 1 assist less despite being a wing player that isn't supposed to create as compared to a PG.

The biggest issues with Lin are that he turns the ball over too much and too easily and that he is a poor defender (despite what LOF want to believe.) He's an offensive spark off the bench that you let go when it's time to get paid.

I am not comparing Lin and Parsons. Just wanted to pointed out that Lin is not trash as many people on this board think. He obviously has a lot of flaws in his game. But I feel he is improving every year and still relative young.

The criticisms of Lin are fair:
    1.) Terribly inconsistent
2.) Poor decision maker and low BBIQ
    3.) Not a good defender

Those things can be tolerable if he is excellent elsewhere but when you have a playoff series where your low BBIQ blows one game and sends a winnable game into overtime, and you aren't playing well offensively, then you are liability, a BIG one.

I am assuming he would have already signed by now had Memphis gave him a good offer.

If they can keep him healthy and sign a Troy Daniels like shooter(They really need shooting), than this Memphis team could make the finals.

I have no problem with the legit criticisms Lin gets. Every player, even Harden, gets bashed here. But the hate he's getting lately on this board is a little too excessive. Some CFers will be literally on the suicide watch if Morey fails to get rid of Lin this summer. lol.

Exactly. Imagine if he only gets paid $2M/year. It's not his fault that he has a big contract.

And Lin is one of the important factors that made rockets the most profitable team in the league. Without him, I don't know if les would be this willing to pay luxury tax now.

So, you and your brethren will be here, what, another 2-3 hours...and then it's off to Philly and their boards? Can I get an AMEN from the congregation?
Lin was THE most important factor in us not going further in the playoffs...due to the giant PR blank behind Bev and us not being able to upgrade last year...Preceding, thus trumping all that though,we lost Dragic because of Les's need for JL and more $$$ in the Far East. His presence on the Houston Rockets has cost us a ton where it counts most to real fans...on the court. And, yes, Les would be paying the Luxury Tax now....The Rockets have a chance at being one of the favorites and he's getting up there in age.

    1) Lin was one of the reasons we lost in the playoffs, but he was not the "most important factor". I would say our complete inability to get stops was a far bigger issue than than the few boneheaded plays he made.
    2) The Rockets really don't bring in a whole lot of cash from the east. That's been debunked so many times.
    3) We did not lost Dragic because of Lin. We lost Dragic because he wanted a player option that Morey was uneasy about giving him.

I'm not the biggest Lin fan, but idiotic logic like this makes me sympathize with them a bit.

I always think how much fun it would be to work for the Rockets front office with Morey -- but then I remember that he probably works his employees like slaves...with whips and everything.
