If part of Cubans plan is to down talk the rockets... Then he's already lost.

"Hey pick us. Not because you should but because those other guys suck."

He tried this with Howard. Howard now plays for the rockets.

Bulls keep saying hes healthy, but I've read that he has been saying he still didnt know if he'd be ready for Team USA training camp. Rose said it depended on how far along he is with his rehab and "ho he is feeling". That doesn't sound like 100% to me.

Dirk said there was little chance Melo would choose Dallas. Cuban's plan might be to create enough doubt to make sure Melo stays in the East.

Knicks have already said they will not take boozer in any S&T deal

doing that deal puts the Knicks at 84 million - so they will be hard capped (hard to make any other moves) and not only that would pay the repeater tax of about 34 million for being 21 million over the luxury tax (the penalty is higher for every million over 20 over the line)

McDermott, Mirotic and Butler are not worth having to pay all that extra money too -- and of course Boozer

Yeah but that was a different situation with Howard. Everybody was expecting him to sign with the Rockets. Or at least they were telling him that's what he should do. Even the talking heads on TV were saying that's where he should go.

Not the case with Melo. If anything they are saying he would fit best in Chicago...

Also Mirotic will not come over to just ride the bench behind Gibson. If he just waits one more year, Chicago will lose their rights to him (see: Scola, Luis)

I think we'll get Carmelo because of Dwight.

The Knicks are not in line to pay the repeater tax this year, and won't be next year because they will get under the cap:

    http://www.sbnation.com/2013/2/20/4008590/nba-trade-deadline-2013-repeater-tax

Also, they would not be just getting assets of McDermott, Mirotec and Butler; they would also be clearing J.R. Smith and his $6 million salary off their cap for next summer.

The Knicks position on Boozer is just posturing at this point, in hopes that Melo will resign. It will change when Melo tells them face to face he is leaving - this is why he saved his NY meeting for last.

I think that if Melo chooses Chicago, they'll find a way to sign and trade him.

Maybe Melo gets a major bonus/raise from Nike if he goes to Chicago? Or at least not get a deduction moving from NYC to somewhere else (like Houston). I think some other players have certain clauses contingent on where they play. Chicago is a higher profile market/team and the Jordan connection of course.

That might further convince him to take a chance w/ Rose and company.

He did workout in front of Anthony.... although I don't know that it matters much. The issue is how he will be in game situations.

Uhh McHale was at the Toyota Center last night really late, so not sure why he would be "pulling in" unless he went for breakfast and came back.

Do you think Feigen is lying? LOL

Maybe he went home, maybe he went to breakfast, maybe he went for a morning quickie. Who knows.

So you're saying McHale slept at the TC last night?
