Allen has said he will play with Lebron. So put him in for the minimum after they have made signings. Pencil in Haslem on the same note.

One would imagine they get another couple of useful vets who want a chance at glory.

Assuming heat somehow clear 10-12 million in cap space, instead of spending it all on Lowry, it makes much more sense IMO to get gasol and patty mills or darren collison.

Gasol was pretty bad last year, but how much of that was dantoni, playing on a terrible team and playing with nick young etc. He's no longer in his prime, but he's only 33 and his skills would be absolutely fantastic next to lebron and bosh.

Collision would be a fit due to his tough d and is a decent shooting and can really penetrate the paint. Patty mills is obvious fit simply because of his shooting. Might be difficult to get collision away from the clippers however and Miami need mills and gasol to take 5-6 per to make it work.

Couldn't find a relevant thread for this, so figured I'd place it here since it has to deal with the Heat. Sorry if it's already been posted elsewhere.

Pau Gasol speaks to Heat president Pat Riley

    Yahoo Sports

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/pau-gasol-speaks-to-heat-president-pat-riley-013436406.html

Free-agent center Pau Gasol had a telephone conversation with Miami Heat president Pat Riley on Tuesday and could talk again with the franchise in the near future, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The cost for Gasol could still be prohibitive for the Heat, but there's little doubt he could be an intriguing part to a supporting cast in Miami. So far, Gasol is still pushing for a $10 million-$12 million annual salary, league sources said.

The NBA champion San Antonio Spurs have inquired with Gasol's agent Arn Tellem, expressing an interest, sources said, but the Spurs can't become a legitimate suitor unless Gasol significantly drops his asking price.

I actually think Gasol would be the perfect for them and make them a VERY VERY scary team.....pretty much a lock for the championship.

Everyone moves back to their normal positions

    Chalmers/Cole/Napier
    Wade
    Lebron
    Bosh
    Gasol

Eh, Gasol is going to wake up one morning and be too old to be very productive. Wonder if that day is soon.

I never understood why Gasol got so much hate but I think he's a very nice player. One of the most skilled big men.

I was actually pretty excited when the Rockets were going to have a team run by Lowry and Gasol (via the CP3 trade).

Wow Bosh might screw over the Big 3 with him wanting essentially what Cleveland gave Kyrie

Did you already for the finals from 3 weeks ago? Spurs are staying intact. They are a very deep team. If the Heat will not fix their bench, you can expect a repeat of this year, providing the Spurs stay healthy. Expect Wade to fade quick in the next year or so.

Kyrie got 5yr 90 million, if Bosh wants the same contract that hardly screws Miami. His starting salary would be 16 million which is 6 million less than he could get and 4 million less than his previous salary. If wade takes a contract which starts at 12 (4/56) that leaves 33 million to resign lebron (20-22 mill) leaving 11-13 million to sign another free agent and cap holds to fill out the roster.

Gasol makes them the 99 Bulls (only ****ter), they'll cruise in the east. Hope it doesn't happen.

The Heat's biggest weakness in the playoffs were their bigs. They need someone like Gasol more than they need a PG. Napier IMO would be an upgrade over Chalmers/Cole already.
