    You can offer him more and still keep the MLE I believe.

    But he doesn't report BS....even if something has been reported and DA repost it, it's no different than the 99% out there. The difference is he doesn't make a habit of making stuff up...Chris Broussard, Marc Stein, Rick Bucher etc... I can deal with that all day

    Big Edit: See Mathloom's post below. I was wrong.

    Anyway, the short story is that the Rockets can sign Lowry with our without S&T of Lin. But it is more favorable for the Rockets if they execute a S&T as opposed to straight out signing Lowry.

    You can't sign a player with a TPE. To sign Lowry we would have to trade Lin, release some of our guys, renounce the trade exception from the Asik trade, give up the MLE and give up pursuing other FA's. Doesn't sound appealing at all considering we have a weaker PF rotation than last year and little depth.

    You are right. I didn't think about that scenario. But the Rockets can still sign Lowry. But yes, it would be a less appealing for the Rockets.

    lol the big names need time to meet with other teams to get a good deal - most teams might not make a move yet for minor players until the big boys have moved
