Who? Dempsey? He was basically playing up top anyway while Altidore was healthy. He was just dropping back a little deeper for the ball when Altidore was healthy than he was while Altidore was hurt and he had to play further up field.
I'm not a Team USA fan but when I said this prior to the WC AND proved it statistically to some on here, some thought I was incorrect. Tell me again Tim Howard isn't world class. Someone say some stupid $hit like Tim Howard isn't world class. Just because he plays for Everton doesn't mean he wouldn't be able to do the job at a G14 type club at this point in his career. Beast, just like his teammate Romey Rome.
Dempsey can play striker but he is really a midfielder, same for Donovan - Altidore, Johannsen, and Wondo were our strikers. And to not play Mix Diskerud arguably our most creative midfielder was disgraceful by Klinny. DD
Dempsey plays as a striker at club level and for the Nat'l team. He grew up a midfielder and played there for a while and can play as a creative midfielder but it isn't his forte much the last few years. I wouldn't call Diskerud your most creative midfielder but I was surprised he didn't see a minute in the tournament. Welp.
I for one could go on about how right I was about certain things. It is not important. Important is it was a thriller of a game, both teams were hungry, did not give up. In the long run it is not satisfactory to say "I told you so" and wisecrack.
With all due respect, advice duly noted and discarded. If you want to go on about how right you are about certain things then I'm sure no one on here is stopping you. I'm not coming to say I told you so about some prediction or something like that. I mentioned a player was at a certain level. Others disagreed. No one said anything to support my stance and so after said player turned in yet another fantastic World Cup performance, pardon me for deciding to mention that again and seeing if anyone still disagrees. I'm not sure it's up to you to decide whether it's important for me to post what I posted. I've been posting here long enough that if one observed, I'm not the type to bother posting "I told you so's". You don't like the post, ignore it. The post didn't apply to you/you werent' one of those that claimed Tim Howard was not a World Class keeper? Then move on. Both teams played hard.
Relax. Ok. Then have a nice day. I had the sentiment that you sounded off about an argument, you kept getting back at it instead of letting it go after a wonderful WC game. If you get upset about one lousy argument that THoward is not World Class, we can't help you. I just do not get your aggressive use of words.
Can't wait to finally see Belgium play as an "outsider" against a better team on paper that needs to create the game. Curious to see how they'll defend and perform by counter-attacking. I'll be in France working during the game, but hopefully they can beat the Messi's.
I can't wait to see the top clubs lined up to buy Howard now! He will be out of Everton in no time /s
Then perhaps next time you can also relax, take a minute and see if the sentiment you had was actually accurate before you put fingers to computer keys? Lol, Luckily I'm not asking for help nor for you to get the manner of my "use of words". If there's nothing else then proceed elsewhere. Cheers.
Hmmm, now reading comprehension is difficult at times I know, I know, I know, BUT feel free to let me know where I wrote that top clubs will be lining up to buy Howard now. Yeah, kthxbai.
Brosef, it seems we have a number on here that don't because this is what they claimed. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8966281&postcount=385 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8966476&postcount=392 Primarily La Liga and Bundesliga fans though. I guess they considered him excellent but not "world class."
Bro, you still with this^^^. At least you didn't quote me lol. Anyways, just finished watching extra times of Argentina-Switzerland game and Argentina still hasn't displayed the type of futbol I think they will need to lift the trophy. They keep playing bad but keep on winning. I have them winning it all so I hope their act together. And Di Maria my God does that guy ever run out of gas? Geezz 120 minutes and still running around like nothing.
Lol I should've quoted you now that I think about it. Punk @##. So right about Di Maria but man, I have Belgium beating them in the QFs. Messi, Di Maria & friends lol.
Well, eight teams left. The trophy is literally for the taking as nobody has stood out to be the favorite. All of the remaining teams had trouble beating their opponents, needing extra time, PK'S, etc... This has been an exciting WC, very much watchable even for the casual fans, and it is about to get much better with the traditional powerhouses going head to head.
