We wouldn't have to do a ridiculous 4 team trade. It would simply be an order of operations type deal, but the key would be getting salaries to match in the Love trade (in addition to the obvious approval of both Minn and Love).

I know that, I put it in one picture to illustrate the moves. 3 Way with Minnesota and NOP. Lowry for Lin + Picks.

    LOL

    Windhorst:

Bulls plan is not to use cap space to sign him but force a sign and trade with New York, sending them Boozer and some other assets.

They think they can force a sign and trade down the Knicks throat and include some assets.

Klay off table at moment. Knicks want in. Just don't see how they can get a deal done. RT @fjdamsenIII: @DarrenWolfson anything new on Love?

If I had to guess, If Phil is thinking melo leaving, he's trying to chi to give those assets and go to minny with them, NOT SAYING THIS WILL HAPPEN but think Phil's going to try this.

    Knicks - love, Martin
    Bulls - melo
minny - boozer, shumpert/butler/ or hardaway, bulls 2 first round picks, Knicks pick

So none of those clowns are giving the Rockets a chance. Sounds similar to last summer with D12

Well historically the Knicks have been completely mismanaged so it's worth a shot.

problem with this is that the Rockets end up with the two best players in the complicated sign and trade -- whats to say a savvy GM like ujiri is going to want to not get something more in that trade or convince saunders that he isnt getting enough value for Love etc?

the projected salary cap is set to be at 63 million - the knicks right now are just under 60 million dollars -- this is without Carmelo or anyone else added to the team and not accounting for their other own FAs they may want (Lamar Odom, etc)

Lets say the Knicks make no other moves in free agency and just complete a sign and trade for Melo for around 18-19 million and trade him to the Bulls for Boozer plus rights to Mirotic - future first etc.

that would put the Knicks at 76 million - 13 million over the cap

With the repeater tax that would be a 19.5 million dollar tax fine

So basically the Bulls are asking the Knicks to take Boozer not on a 16 million dollar contract but basically a 35.5 million dollar contract (16 owed boozer + the tax) and give up their best player in return

Assuming this is true, a S&T does not really help the Bulls cap situation, they still are hard pressed to go over 15.5 million for Anthony without trading Gibson. So why would Chicago want a S&T with NY? Simple, Reinsdorf wants NY to take Boozer so he doesn't have to amnesty him and pay him 15 million to play for someone else.

Also, the Bulls think Jackson is going to want to do a S&T? So Anthony can be in the same conference and lead Jackson's old team deep in the playoffs?

Makes perfect sense... Hey Melo we want you! We are going to offer you 66% of what you can get in NY and we are counting on a S&T ... But trust us, we have our **** together!

Maybe Melo ends up in Chicago, but the Bulls brain trust isn't doing themselves any favors.

You forgot the most important factor in all of this, and that is the Bulls have Taj Mother*****ng Gibson. Enough said.

I normally don't read into things like this, but giving the Bulls a full day while splitting up the Rockets and Mavs day is fairly telling in my opinion.

Yeah, but Dallas and Houston are close. So no need to stay in Houston full day for Carmelo.
