If a NBA team can fit four near MAX guys on one team then the MAX needs to be raised to a level where teams that have a MAX player are forced to build internally to surround that MAX player. These "super friend / NBA 2K14" in real life teams are ridiculous.
If this is true, then I see Miami going after Gortat. They drafted a PG, so I think they will go after a center.
Except it's not Riley's doing lol. Lebron James GM of the year? Poor Morey. Works his butt off to build a team just to watch guys fall all over themselves to build a team in Miami. I'm sure it frustrates the crap out of him.
Lowry, Ariza, Gortat, Deng, Parsons and the likes gonna be making as much as the stars. lulz <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I've heard flip-flopped <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/s?src=hash">#s</a> for Bosh and Wade -- $12M for CB, $10M for DW -- but regardless, those are kind of <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/s?src=hash">#s</a> MIA needs to get real space</p>— Zach Lowe (@ZachLowe_NBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/ZachLowe_NBA/statuses/484059490183286784">July 1, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Well why not just take mid-level money or less? Then you open up all sorts of possibilities! Hey, you'll get it back in endorsements!! James! Bosh! Wade! Gasol! Lowry! Gortat! Ariza! Super-super-duper-team!!
I think those deals Bosh and Wade signed are pretty close to market value for them. Yeah they took a huge pay cut this year but I think Wade would get a deal about like that on the open market and Bosh maybe slightly more.
I agree. Neither of them are max players- at least not anymore. Keep in mind- while some guys (like Deng) are going to end up getting overpaid- when you sign a young player (like Parsons, Hayward) part of what you're paying for is the fact that they're young and not in their prime. Younger guys almost always get more because they're less likely to drop off during their contract and might still even grow a bit.
so with $12MM left you have to fill out PG - _____, Cole SG - Wade, _______ SF - Lebron, ________ PF - Bosh, ________ C - ________, _______ as well as two other roster spots...
@johncanzanoBFT LeBron James is seeking a one or two year contract with the Miami Heat at maximum-dollar value per year, a source told The Oregonian on Tuesday. James would maintain future flexibility and stand alone as the highest paid player on his roster for the first time in his 11-year NBA career should he sign that deal. Heat teammate Chris Bosh has agreed in principal to a five-year contract extension with Miami that would pay him $11 million in the first year, the source confirmed. Further, Heat teammate Dwyane Wade has agreed to re-sign in Miami for four years, beginning at $12 million in year one.
Alot of Money for Bosh to leave on the table. WADE . . .he will get his 40 million plus some extra . . .just stretched out over some years but Bosh He could have got his 40 million . . .then another high contract in 2 years Rocket River Bosh is a fool . . . . winning championships will not be guaranteed and it will not bring that money back so I hope he doing this for the love of Miami
Losing respect for Lebron, others have to take a paycut huh? Nice by Bosh in particular! Wish Howard had understood that.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Based on my information, the numbers being reported for Bosh & Wade are much lower than what I expect (present tense) them to accept.</p>— Ethan J. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Agent Henry Thomas, on report clients Bosh & Wade will take $12M/per & $11M/per, respectively: "all the BS you are reading is just that."</p>— David Aldridge (@daldridgetnt) <a href="https://twitter.com/daldridgetnt/statuses/484078698899857408">July 1, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
^ LOL, that sums it up. (the Aldridge tweet). If you don't hear it directly from a team, an agent, a player, or Woj, just don't believe it.
ORLY? Should be interesting. I thought it was a bit amazing for Bosh to go down to 11M. I figured Bosh at 15 and Wade at 13/14.
They had 40 million guaranteed. So we have to start there Most years they can sign for is 5 [right?] So 8 million has to be the absolute floor. add 10 million for being a GOOD Soldier. . that lifts the floor to 10 million If bosh takes 4 yrs at 12 each . . . that is only 8 million more than he would have gotten staying pat and his next contract would have been still near max [baring injury or decline] At the end of 4 or 5 years. . .he won't command anywhere near that Bosh's decline is not as steep as Wade's Rocket River
