Fair enough, but I just don't see how we could clear the cap space for Melo or something with just moving a deal based on Lin. And if Lowry is signed first before Melo (i.e., what you wrote but where Lin is second SnT piece), why even do a SnT? We could just move for the pick and sign out right. Either way eating up cap space before the second FA.

WTF... LOL.. There is obviously much more to this. Chandler for Lowry is lateral at best. No way on early they S&T Lowry for Parsons and Ujiri turns it down. Must be something much bigger at play with the S&T or the report is just straight up BS (probably most likely).

    1. Execute the Asik trade.

    2. Dump Lin.

    3. Sign Melo/trade for Love (maybe with Lin)

    4. S&T Parsons for Lowry

My educated guess is that Anthony does not want to play power forward, so the Rockets figured they would move Chandler for an upgrade at the point guard position and also improve the small forward spot with Anthony. That leaves a hole at PF but the Rockets would have a MLE if they could workout a S&T.

    Howard/?/Anthony/Harden/Lowry

The Rockets inviting him to a Melo meeting is pretty telling. The Rockets aren't trading Chandler laterally.

IMO, if this is really a legit report, I would guess Ujiri is probably the one that leaked this out there to scare people off of Lowry to say... we could have had Parsons in a S&T, but we are signing Lowry at all costs.

    I'm calling BS.

That would be sick, even though I do not like Carmelo at all

The Heat can't afford Lowry, unless he'll play for MLE.

Man... that's a ballsy move than, and they'd have to have pretty concrete evidence from Melo's folks in that case. These next few days are going to get interesting very fast.

Honestly, the Lowry thing feels like Morey just setting up contingencies. I am sure Melo is option A, (with Lebron off the board) and Morey is just making sure he has his fallback options open to strike.

Morey is probably juggling a half-dozen different FA/trade options right now.

...they wouldn't need to trade Parsons to upgrade the PG position. They could literally just sign Lowry -- without any help from Toronto at all. And they definitely aren't looking to play Carmelo at SF.

Hill was decent for what he was, but the groupthink here was against him.

If Anthony wants to play SF, and it is a deal breaker..... they would certainly consider playing Anthony at SF.
