He may have an affinity for the possibility of returning to Houston.

His post trade comments about McHale are VERY positive and he owes a lot to Morey who pushed him to work on his jumpshot.

Maybe he has a desire to be back with this organization.

I can imagine Morey giving him the "Nothing has made me prouder as a general manager then watching you become the player I always knew you could become" speech.

Seems doubtful to me. After LBJ's meeting with Wade and Bosh, and the reported cuts they are willing to take after opting out, it seems like those buddies have reached pretty strong verbal agreements with LBJ that he'll come back. 99% certain. His deal may only be for 2 yrs, but still...LBJ is out of the picture for us. Melo and Lowry together or Lowry and Love together, those are very real possibilities, though we'd have to lose Parsons.

Other deals lined up to get rid of Lin probably include a heck of alot of assets going out the door.

Morey is probably trying to line up a S&T for several reasons-

    A. If Toronto is losing Lowry, they might be willing to take Lin straight up or for very little back in return (maybe a 2nd rounder or two)

    B. If Morey can S&T for Lin there is still a possibility (since they have some time before the moratorium is over) that they could modulate the Asik trade into something that nets them maybe another player so they could take back more salary.

(Who knows, maybe they end up getting Lowry and a guy like Ryan Anderson as well)

I know they have to try, but LeBron isn't going anywhere.

So they did make an official offer and it's obviously $10 million or more a year so what I said was correct then?

I agree. For me, this recent news about Le Bron's 1-2 year contract demand, plus reduced contract demands of Wade/Bosh, closes the book on this possibility.

Hang on. So the Rockets only want Lowry in a S&T? They won't go after him in a straight up signing? Then why bother even meeting with him? Toronto isn't gonna go for that.

I hope so. Couldn't we sign him outright, dump Lin on another team, and have enough capspace left over to sign a respectable 4? I'd call that a pretty damn good offseason(aside from the coaching situation).

Ask is still a Rocket-- and will be one until the end of the July Moratorium. The trade was announced and will go through but it can be worked to include a third team.

For example, we can make a 3 team trade where HOU gets Lowry at $12M, TOR gets the NOP pick and NOP gets Asik.

Sign and trade with Chandler heading to Toronto means Melo/Love/max guy heading here as well, no?

    This part is weird.

The rest of the blog entry was attributed to Broussard or some reports but the Parsons part was not attributed.

Also a double S&T is tricky. Parsons will have to agree to go to TOR first and settle on a $ amount. So, it would be doubtful that HOU can concretely offer Parsons in a S&T deal at this point.

Its all assumptions right now (Rockets offer/s) but you'd have to assume that if Lowry & his agent have heard from Miami that they can open up 12 mil in cap space, and they are mulling whether to even meet with Miami that its more than 12 million a year, or that the offer/situation/whatever from Hou/Tor somehow seems more appealing at first glance.

So read into that as you will, but I read into it as the Rockets are going into it very strong ... likely offering more than 12 mil a year & might be also discussing further upgrades to roster, etc.
