That's actually a good point, through a 3-way we can get valuable pieces to minny, as the bulls are looking to dump pieces. Only thing is, I'm sure the bulls can get a better offer than we're able to give

Would he have the option of opting out? It seems to me that if he does this, and things don't go so well with the team around him, he wouldn't want that 5th year. I'm actually curious what the benefits are.
I don't think that they can get to $11M in cap space that easily without trading Lin though I haven't done the math. You could do what you suggest and trade Lin for a slightly smaller contract to create a little more cap space but they you can't include that player in a package for Love so that wouldn't work. I also don't think that Lin, Jones, Pelicans pick and rights to Euro players gets you Love. Further I don't believe that Parson's would agree to a S&T to Minnesota. My guess is that Parsons preference is to stay in Houston and finish what they've started building. Even if he were only trying to get every penny he could I think that he could get equal money from a team that he actually wanted to play for. I'm not even sure if Lowry/Love is preferable over Love/Parsons. We at least have Beverly at the PG. Without Parsons we'd have nothing at the SF spot and no MLE to use to get a good wing (since we'd have to renounce it in order to use cap space to sign Lowry).
The only reason I'm going to still respond to your post despite writing this is because I do respect you as a poster. But I have to admit, I expected more from someone who does so much nice research on our players. From Larry Coon's FAQ For two months after receiving the player in trade, if the trade aggregates the player's salary with the salaries of other players. However, the team is free to trade the player immediately, either by himself or without aggregating his salary with other salaries. This restriction applies only to teams over the salary cap. (Also see question number 87.) FWIW, it's possible the rules may affect the Rockets because the resulting trade for Love would result in the Rockets being over the cap. In which case, the Rockets would have to trade TJones, instead of Lin to open up further capspace. But still doable. Perhaps. Perhaps not. But you asked me a question regarding cap space. Not what Minnesota want. I really have no f**king clue what the hell they want. But I do at least have some knowledge of the cap, which was what I thought you were asking. I have no idea on what Parsons want either. But from a cap standpoint, it is not necessary to include Parsons. From Minnesota's standpoint, I answered above. That is your opinion. Others have their opinions too. If they want Love/Lowry, and you don't want them, just say it. No need to tell them it's impossible when it's clearly not.
Didnt on of Doc or Codman's cryptics mention a blood something? and it had to do with 3 guys from chicago? maybe ur on to somethin with a 3 way trade with minny and chicago. Clear space for chicago, we get love and maybe gibson or butler, minny gets the rest of whatever we send
Floor-spreading big man Spencer Hawes, sources say, is already drawing a lot of interest. Cleveland hopes to retain Hawes, but I'm told that the Blazers, Clippers, Rockets and Mavericks are already all in pursuit. http://espn.go.com/blog/marc-stein/post/_/id/2619/day-1-free-agency-chatter

Mr. Riley can crunch numbers all day and it won't change the fact That the big 3 will total at least 50 million. Good luck.
Seeing as how Wade just opted out of $40 mil guaranteed, I'm guessing they "promised" him a 3 or 4 year deal totaling that much and then some. Maybe a 3 year deal for $15m per. Maybe Bosh and James agree to take the same -- Lebron more than anyone seems to be about winning first and foremost, and Bosh seems content to be along for the ride. That would give them plenty to play around with and add a supporting cast.
